This just took the wind right out of me. Delp always struck me as a nice guy, and he had one of the best voices in rock and roll. If you're familar with the drama that is Boston, then you can only be amazed that Delp was able to work with both sides of the various lawsuits. I've seen Boston in concert a few times and was hoping to see them again during their summer tour.
Best Boston song - Something About You
Just awful news.

I saw that and thought it was pretty sad that he died alone. I am not too immersed in Boston's music (yet) but I think that Delp deserves some recognition having lived a life in rock music.
so sad! i just found out last night after i bought their CD.
first my dearest Freddie, now Brad...both of my favorite frontmen! only i took Brad WAY better than Freddie, naturally...
RIP Monsieur Delp!

please get help or call a suicide prevention line if you ever think about hurting yourself
Very unfortunate and very true. We are used to seeing people who show the outwards signs of depression being the one's who take their own life. Delp's death shows us how it can effect even those who seem to have the great things ahead of them. Please get help yourself or look after those who seem to be dangerously near suicide.

Hmmm, how would one go about tracking them down??

Dimeadozen had around 10 or so posted this last week, including the Long Beach show which is probably the most famous. Excellent soundboards. If you can't find them, Lisser, talk to me in the hub and I'll get you hooked up.
I just read about it being suicide.. my first thought was.. "why the hell is the family releasing this info?". If authorities need to, fine, but why would someone's family make such an announcement? Weird.
Tragic ... and unnecessary, but he lost hope and was unfortunately determined to end his life. link
He sealed himself inside his house with two charcoal grills. The car exhaust was "option" 2.
Clinical depression distorts peoples perception on life. He must have fealt worthless and been in tremendous pain to "forget" his fiancee. I hope she can "forgive" herself, as Brad was determined to hide his depression and end his life. There probably was very little she could do to help him, especially if he did not want help.
I completely understand that degree of depression. I've been almost to the point, but what saves me is being so depressed that when I'm that low I don't even have the energy to go that far.
I wish people could hang on when they feel like that, because there's ALWAYS a reason to live and always a new day for something to change. You just gotta make it through the rough part to see things clearly. But like I said, I understand, so I can't condemn someone who takes their life. I know that to be that low, it's out of their control. (or usually is anyway)
