Lets just say it's the greatest thing that they aredoing is making new songs. When Freddie died we were sure it was over.Some how Brian and Rodger have let the light brun bright.Howerer It's QUEEN .There place in RocK History is now ,one of the best rock bands of all time.world wide prob #2 after the beatels.So let BM & RT use the name Queen as they please. THANK YOU
Of course it's good they're making new songs. But is it Queen? Let's see: no Freddie's voice, backing vocals and arrangements, no John's catchy and clever pop tunes. At least half of the Queen sound was based on that. So, again, can the collaboration of Brian May, Roger Taylor, and Paul Rodgers be called Queen? There is only one common-sense answer.
I don't complain that much that they used Queen+PR for concert tour last year. After all, they were playing mostly Queen songs. But, to call this new collaboration Queen is far-fetched.
They aren't calling it Queen. They're calling it Queen + Paul Rodgers, and that's exactly what it is. You take what's left of Queen, add Paul Rodgers, and what do you get? Queen + Paul Rodgers. Brian and Roger aren't dumb enough to just call it Queen. I'm sure they don't want any death threats.
Well, it they wanted to be accurate (by adding + Paul Rodgers), then they should have said, "Half Queen + PR". By adding PR, but keeping the Queen name, they are trying to create something that isn't.
We may all be surprised and it could be released under the name of "May, Taylor, Rodgers". This was the original idea before the 2005 tour, but apparently Paul Rodgers told them to use the name Queen.

And you are the person to make that decision, eh? If you wanted to be accurate, then you should have added a "V" to the beginning of your name. By not adding the V, you are trying to create something that isn't.
Actually, they were going to use:
{ ½Q+PR) - Mary's Estate }
------------------------------------------------ + 3
John Deacon better judgement
But what exactly do you file that under?
<H> for HALF OF QUEEN PLUS PAUL RODGERS MINUS FREDDIE'S ROYALTIES OVER JOHN'S BETTER JUDGEMENT AND ADD 3 SPARES.

Queen = band. Queen = NOT description of the PERMANENT SYNTHESIS of four people.
Band = sum of bandmembers
2 bandmember currently in band (one dead, one retired)
Band adds additional vocalist: band + vocalist
Band + vocalist = Queen + Paul Rodgers
It's not that difficult, even if you really are this stupid.

Actually you have the other way around.
Paul thought they were gonna go by something like May, Taylor, and Rodgers.
Then Bri and Rog approached Paul and said they were gonna go under Queen + Paul Rodgers, which took Paul a bit by surprise.
It's in an interview with Paul that's in Pieter's archive somewhere.
Hit him up for the link.
