Following the recent sharing of this, here's a sample ('Liar') of the 'remaster' I did for myself. I did it for my own use but thought others might be interested.
If there is any interest (plus the fact that I don't want to confuse the issue by throwing yet another version into the pot), let me know and I'll post the FLACs of the whole thing.
These are links to mp3s (only to keep file sizes down) of the before and after to give you an idea of the changes. link link
Hi Stark,
I´ve just been comparing your "remastered" Liar with the FLAC recently posted and ... good job!
I like the sound, and of course I´d be interested in your version.
Hope you recieve enough feedback, not only mine, and decide to post it. Cheers and thanks !
Ah, great snare sound! What did you do to that? I sense you EQ'd it a bit... some more mid... and made the stereo a bit wider. Anything else?
Good job, Stark.
Thanks very much to you all for the feedback - I'll post the FLACs tomorrow. And actually all that was done was equalisation and rebalancing levels between channels (i.e. some songs were much louder in one speaker than the other). Playing with the stereo width is a big no-no for me, certainly in terms of mono compatibility, as instruments in the middle tend to get completely lost if you're not careful. Oh, and the whole thing was limited to bring it up to level - but absolutely no dynamic range was lost. Thanks again guys, really appreciate the input.
