Do any of you have a particular syllable (or word or even phrase if you want) which you can just listen to over and over again? If you don't know what I mean, then two of my favourites would be the "beau" from "beautiful" in A Winter's Tale (at 2:53) as it's just so clean and in tune. Also the high "we" in the second chorus of WATC at Live Aid, as Freddie doesn't normally go for it, but here he hits it with so much power. |

I love that sound that Roger usually did during live performance of Also Rans..... |

<font color="0000FF">Thing #1<h6>hehe :D wrote: "Yeah" ;DHaha ! ... If I think about it... I would pick the "love" at the end of Radio Ga-ga on Live at Wembley since I'm fond of pointing out how neat I think it is. |

I love it when Freddie sings "Someone still loves you" in Radio Ga Ga. It gets me everytime. |
Elizabeth Knightson 04.01.2007 16:57 |
I love when Freddie says the band members' name in Invisible, there's a particular intonation for each: "John DEAcon", "Brian May Brian May!" "Rrrrrroger Taylor!" |
beautifulsoup 04.01.2007 17:01 |
For some strange reason: From Made in Heaven: "That's what they say." (Half-spoken, half-sung. Love it. Just something about it...) I actually do rewind that and listen to it several times. Also from Made in Heaven: The melisma "yeah" before the bridge, and the "be -yeah" before the final "written in the stars." There are more. I'll think on it. ETA: From The Golden Boy: "He didn't hesitate..." and most of IGSM. |
galileo_figaro_magnifico 04.01.2007 18:40 |
the way he says "boy" in GOFLB...*swoon*!! lol in Spread Your Wings, the last verse, the "who" of "dont you know who you are" sooo cute!! Bicycle Race, when he says by himself: "I want to ride my biCYCLE!" kind of an echo-y shout Who Needs You: "oh so so so-phisticat-ed!" BoRhap: "fanDANgo!" In The Lap of the Gods Rev.: "pretending" OMG! i listen to that word OVER and OVER!! |

"I'm happy at ALL" I love the way his says "all" in "You're My Best Friend" |
violonbleu 04.01.2007 19:18 |
"I'll overkill, I have to find the wings to carry on.." or something like this, at the end of TSMGO. |
A Word In Your Ear 04.01.2007 19:24 |
I like the "Crazy" sung by Roger in "Tenement Funster" |
mrjordy 04.01.2007 19:44 |
It's funny that you always think to yourself "I'm completely insane" for rewinding over and over a particular phrase said by Freddie in a song (for me, it's "ooooon with the show" from TSMGO) until you come across queenzone and realize that you're not the only crazy one - there's plenty other Queen crazies out there, too. That's what this website is all about, people. |

Live Aid when Freddie sang Radio Ga Ga and when he sang Radio and he wavered that 'o', oh god, i LOVE IT!!! I dont know if this would be the same category as the subject, but I like the 'scat' part of Khashoggi's Ship this has already been said, but the 'Rrrrroger Taylor!' in The Invisble Man When Freddie does his 'AYYY-OHHHS!' at concerts, those are the best I probably have more, I just dont remember them all, silly me :P |

I love in the proffet's song, how Freddie does that aw, children of the land. That part is just so clear and powerful. Can't explain it. May think I'm strange. |

I love the second "..ROLL the dice..." in The Fallen Priest from Barcelona, it's kind of growly and menacing..grrr. |
una999 05.01.2007 06:42 |
i've loads but one of my favourite is - i cant live with you where the rest of the band sings near the end, then freddies voice comes in with the word 'yeah' and proceeds on... or in the song - just you and i, the very last line where he sing the 'I' beautifully and finally in sail away sweet sister, where brian is singing, then freddie comes in...the whole lot of it I always replay bit of freddies voice - i dont do it with any other singer, shows that he really captured a lot of peoples minds with the power and beauty of his voice |
Fur 05.01.2007 07:13 |
Yep una999 I love that "yeah" in I Can't Live With You. It may even be phasing with the instruments I think. And the Sail Away Sweet Sister Freddie bit is possibly my very favourite lyric, though I had no idea what he was singing till I looked it up! But in You and I my favourite bit is the "da doo da doo da doo da doo doo" sung by the backing choir at 1:16. For some reason I associate it with a fond memory I have and it takes me there heh. |

ALL from "It's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllll so beautiful" from A Winter's Tale |
sparrow 21754 05.01.2007 11:13 |
then he says 'fine' in 'tread that fiiiiiiine liiiiine!' in innuendo just before the flamenco part. and 'time' on the second to last 'til the end of time.....just beautifully sung. and anytime in any of their older things when he says 'world'.....its just magic haha |
rubyrubes76 05.01.2007 11:37 |
from Brighton rock I've always loved "it's still good to know there's still a little magic in the air" powerful and full of conviction |

rubyrubes76 wrote: from Brighton rock I've always loved "it's still good to know there's still a little magic in the air" powerful and full of convictionAgreed. There are so many moments like that. I remembered another one, simply the delivery of the word 'Mochamut' (excuse spelling) in Mustapha-love it! |
Luli 05.01.2007 13:24 |
"every time you make a 'MOOOve'" (You take my breath away) soh beautifull... He just take my breath away in this song. |

'Um'. Closely followed by 'duh'. But then again, in context 'doh' is rather appealing. For minor keys 'ech' can hit the right spot if not over-stressed. For those happy-go-lucky tracks I feel 'ure' is quite pleasing. Personally, I thought Freddie was quite a genious in how he could string these different syllables into making complete words! Who would have thought that seperate phrases like 'ure' and 'plesh' could be combined? |
Asterik 05.01.2007 17:33 |
1)Live At Wembley WWTLF (don't touch my) WOOAAAHHNDS- the power is terrifying. 2)Live at Milton Keynes Dragon Attack- (it's gonna be) Maaaaahck 3)(I'm the Hitman stand as-) IIIDDE- |
eenaweena 05.01.2007 21:06 |
there's something about his S... he says S in a crunchy way... it's good! :) i like it when he says the names of his bandmates in the invisible man. |

rubyrubes76 wrote: from Brighton rock I've always loved "it's still good to know there's still a little magic in the air" powerful and full of convictionthat's a great line : ) i like how he sings jenny's voice in a falsetto and jimmy's voice in a deeper tone. i always liked the way he sang the last "i've been" in see what a fool i've been. it's heartbreakingly beautiful. |

I'm not sure why, but I always liked it in bo rhap during the line "Beelzubub has a devil put aside for me" when they sing the second syllable of aside followed by the word "for". I guess I just like it because it's really high. Alright, that was actually probably more Roger than Freddie, but oh well. |
Fur 06.01.2007 11:06 |
Another one I remembered: Machines - "Its sex life is quanTISED" at 2:45. Have a listen... |
carboengine 06.01.2007 11:33 |
Jazz / Dead On Time. At the very beginning Freddie does this elongated "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh" that slides slightly uuuuuuup and dooooown the scale. I have actually thought of timing it ! but I don't have a watch with a second hand. In the car I put that baby on as loud as I can stand it, hit repeat on song 7, and play that "ooh" a gazillion times. Rats! I have to stop when I reach my destination. Darn. Darn. Darn. |
Freddies Delilah 07.01.2007 22:28 |
It's hard to pin down one syllable, but one of my very very very favourites is where Freddie sings, "anymooooore" from Nevermore. The entire line being, "Please don't you cry anymore." It gets me everytime - it just makes my breath catch in my throat. |
john bodega 07.01.2007 23:58 |
Oooooh.... ya know? My favourite would be in the Queen version of "Made in Heaven" - in the middle of the song right before the solo, the line 'I wish it could last forever', always got me. Most of us would've heard the original beforehand, but when I heard the Queen version for the first time, and Freddie was, obviously dead by then... it was just a very nice moment of the song. (I rate the guitar solo itself highly as well - up there with the solo from "Free as a Bird" which came out at around the same time!). |
Farrokh Mercury 08.01.2007 00:31 |
My favourite syllable is when Freddie hits that high note in "Mr Bad Guy" at the end of the line "I'm Mr Mercury". |

Hi, Fur. So as not to steal your thunder, would you want to start 3 different threads about favorite "bits/sounds" of Brian, Roger, John. |
