Well, that's how Paul McCartney is! Last year's Live 8 he refused to participate unless he was allowded to open and finish the show. Bob Geldof wanted The Pink Floyd reunion(who stold the show) to end the concert, but Macca said he wouldn't play if it happens! Bands were asked to do the concert because they were well known and they would help raise money by playing their songs. The concert was not about who was the best or who had the best voice. That was not the point of the concert. During 'Do They Know Its Christmas' everyone sang it together. Not everyone had a microphone and not everyone could be hurd, but everyone was singing. To me, I find it amasing that all of those different singers were all on the some stage, singing the same song, for the same reason. Why did Freddie not have a microphone? During the song everyone is sharing the microphones. And a lot of other people did not get a chance to sing into one of them, but Freddie did. It was just one word or maybe even one note, but that does not really matter he still got the chance. If Freddie would have had a microphone you know he would have stolen the show. I hadn't watched Live Aid in a long time. Elton John looks so cute in his coat and hat. Freddie didn''t have a mic, but gul' darn, he had a red t-shirt on, so is he not the most noticeable one on the stage?! Having a bit of red in a photo (especially of vast scenery) was a past photographer's "trick", and it served as a focal point whether it was someone's red hat, red coat, or a red barn. I would imagine Freddie's choice of red was carefully thought out. It makes me feel uneasy to see Freddie in a large group like that when I am used to seeing him command even the biggest stages. |
