Hello dear Queen specialist !
I’m Olivier, 28, from France, and I want to have your opinion about a Queen-related item.
I have just received just a few days ago a EP by Jose Lucas, « Electric Rumba » (or Tour du Monde). Brian May is said to play guitar on it (and he is thanked on the back of the cover by Jose Lucas), it was published in 1987, so it would one of the very first collaborations of Brian May without Queen.
I unfortunately don’t have the correct equipment to listen to EPs yet, my hi-fi only accept CDs and cassettes ! Hope Santa Claus will remember I was very gentle this year…
Well, that’s not the subject of this mail. The good point is that I will receive a second EP soon, so I will have one EP available for who wants it, even if I don’t exactly know if I will put it on Ebay, or sell it directly to someone, or use it for exchange and so on... Anyway, I would just like to have your opinion, as you are a Queen specialist and surely know a lot of Queen related items, and surely know this product.
The subject of that mail is that I would like to know what price would you pay for this item ? This question has always been asked to other Queen collectors, and then with all of your opinions I would have an idea of the price of this item. I can’t really make my mind !! This item has already been sold once at 130 USD on an Australian website for example, but that was the first and only time I met this item on internet. I think this item is quite rare, even me in France, I haven’t succeeded in finding it here, and Jose Lucas is a French artist !!
So please, could you help me estimate a price for this item ? I need help !!!
Thanks a lot to you all,
Olivier,
France.
1. Brian was collaborating outside Queen way before 1987. Inceidentally, the Heavy Pettin album he produced has just been reissued on CD (from 1983)
2. He's pretty good at keeping track of what he has done, so would probably have mentioned it.
3. There was another Brian May who did film scores. How do we know he isn't the guy referred to?
