Hello everyone.
Got a couple news stories (through a Freddie Mercury Google alert I set up) that there is really and truly a Queen/Freddie biopic happening.
Has anyone commented here? Surprised there wasn't a QZ news story and so on. This time it seems real, although I'll be happy to say I am duped: this one does have Brian May quotes about casting, etc.
Has anyone read anything about this? Is it true a Queen movie is *really* afoot/in development now?
I'll paste a couple of links to stories here: link link

There have already been a few threads about this here. link link link
Brian's quote: "There is a film in the pipeline and we're all involved in it. I'm not allowed to say much about it and casting isn't finalised but we've had some incredible offers to play Freddie. Really incredible."
Thanks a lot, Donna. Odd that it would make the forum but not the news section here. But I suppose, as you say, it's one of the many stories about a FM biopic that pops up from time to time, and so may not have merited a news clip.

I waited for me this. .... gives me terror anything but of thinking it....in short Freddie...patience where you are!!!. ....anything but I wait that they make it with elengancy and respect toward the best and more charismatic figure and for only great voice of our dear Freddie.

they've misprinted also John's name for Q+PR tour too. This might be missprint or true?
Hollywood Queen movie? Hmm.
<Chicago Mobsters> "You there! Mercury! Drop all your weapons!"
<Freddie> "Listen, my darlings...you ain't taking any of my fuckin' weapons."
*Freddie shoots everyone in a flash of a second, with dual shotgun action, and then leaps into a motorcycle. A glorious car chase involving smashing through men with glass panes and driving onto highway roads that are under construction commence*
Screw both of that: he fends off an entire ninja battalion using naught but his trusty mic stand and various props from his music videos!
-blinding people with the Magic Tour jacket
-throwing the IWTBF vacuum at people
-multiplying himself a la BoRhap video
Furedii Merucurii...most honorable samurai.

Some time back, an Australian news-site reported that Michael Cunningham (Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist) was working on a Freddie Mercury biopic script. I don't know if this is the same project Brian May was talking about though. link
Problem with 'biopics' is that they usually make CRAP movies.
As colouful as a rock star's life maybe, when it comes to tranferring it to cinematic narrative, then it can fall flat on it's face and just appeal to die hard fans. They're probably best suited as a Sunday afternoon TV Movie/mini series
Ray, Tina Turner, Elvis The Movie, Buddy, The Doors are just a few dreary examples, although I must admit La Bamba (Richy Valens) was an exception.
As far as Freddie goes then i fear they would concentrate on his 'sleazy lifestyle' to beef the story up, as many TV docs have done.
