I just feel there have been an abundance of "People I know think Queen sucks" and "People tell me Queen is shit" threads. I can understand to a point but...
I mean - it's not like someone hasn't been NICE to me because I like Queen. I was just walking along once and got stopped about my Queen shirt - and was complimented (same thing happened at a flea market, but with a David Bowie shirt).
When wearing my shirt, people have said "I like Queen, too !" Insead of getting my knickers in a twist if they only know three songs, I'll talk to them and maybe reccomend something if they would like.
My friend in psychology sang part of "Bicycle Race" today.
I played "Ogre Battle" once when I was being bored off a school computer and a girl asked me if it was Queen - and it turned out that she liked Queen, too.
My little cousins were greatly amused by "Seaside Rendezvous".
At the Q+PR concert I went to (the Palace at Auburn Hills), it was so adorable ! I was sitting between two families of several generations. The group on my left had three generations there !
Hm... My dad's friend once talked about seeing Queen in 1976.
Yes...Indeed they do...When I wear my Queen shirts and wrist bands...loads of people come up to me and say "OMG! I love Queen too!"...it doesn't matter to me that they only heard "Bo Rhap" or WATC...just a comment is nice to hear :)...
Well, today in my science class, this idiot behind me thought that Crazy frog wrote WATC...I was like....
*puts on raffiki voice*
ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!
Yah, so i uh, shun him now, but the upside is the guy next to him started to talk to me about Live At The Bowl and how awesome it is, which was a plus, and he had Live Killers, which is great! :D
So yah, thats my only bad queen with public expeariance...which turned into a good one, so yay!
But JEEZ, thinking Crazy Frog...eugh. It makes me ashamed of my generation. :D
Oooh, let us see....!
One kid was singing the chorus to Bicycle Race, once... And one kid likes them, too... And my sister gets aknowledged all the time by the cool "oldies" teachers... :D

At mt school, a few kids have said they like Bicycle Race or Bites the Dust, but that was immediately followed by, "Wasn't the lead singer gay or something?" But one of my sister's friends has a Queen shirt, too. Generally, alot of people I've met like Queen.
I actually 'converted' a friend!!! She's never been a big Queen fan (though she was always great to me about it, teasing me - in a nice way - about how much I knew, etc), and today we went shopping together. We were just walking when suddenly she started talking. "Hey, you know what? I was bored so I asked my dad if I could borrow his iPod and I did and there were a whole lot of Queen songs! I listened to all of them."
So I asked which ones they were and she said, "Um, Killer Queen. I loved that song! We Are The Champions. We Will Rock You. You know, I didn't even know that was by Queen! I Want To Break Free, and Somebody To Love."
It was really so cool! I spent the rest of the day smiling :-)
And apart from that, I've also made a whole lot more of my friends get into Queen. None of them know as much about them as me (yet!), but it's great having someone to talk about Queen with.
All in all, I've had more good Queen experiences than bad ones :D
my friends know i love queen and one of them told me that at a school dance, they played bo rhap, and she said she sang along with it for me
whenever i go to parties and tell people i like queen, they usually say things like 'GREAT band!' 'they're classic!' and other stuff.
this thread was a good idea...i got tired of reading all the put downs and mean comments about Queen.

Ive only had something nice said unless im somewhere Queen related eg; The Dominion Theatre
went to the store with friends today and we blasted Tie Your Mother Down in the car with the windows rolled down and everything while getting out of the parking lot...we got stared at, and then one person smiled at us and sang the lyrics back to us - an obvious Queen fan.
no one comments on my Queen shirt...then again i live in the middle of nowhere, and most people only listen to country, and the people closer to my age listen to mainstream/pop/hip hop...
but i passed out this past July and was taken to the hospital and the doctor who i was assigned to was a Queen fan. :3

hey! Our Generation isn't THAT bad, just quite.
And I love Your Profile Picture.
I have a lot of friends who likes them :P
One of them asked me if he could borrow my cd, becase he wanted some of their musik on his computer..
Actually I know more people who says good things about them, than people who says shit :D

Nice. I'm gonna do that car thing someday. I can relate on the 'middle of nowhere' thing, and all the kids in my grade like rap. *shudder* I don't like rap, but I don't tell them what to like, so we all kind of coexist. Oh, but there is a really cool girl who's older than me and she has every CD. I lost Sheer Heart Attck, so she's letting me borrow it. YAY!
I made a copy of "A Night at the Opera" for my friend (she had a greatest hits something - but it didn't have "Bohemian Rhapsody" - and that's all she asked for, but I threw in the whole thing) - and she LOVED it. :D
Also, through the power that is the Internet - I've been told "You're the one that got me into Queen !"
And I've also reccomended songs - asking what the person liked, and going from that (someone loved Misfire !). :D
And it seems like EVERYONE knows the song "Bicycle Race" ! My cousin's friend sang part, someone in my school hallway... !
And, by the way, I live in a VERY conservative area (and, the majority hates Queen due to association with someone who - gasp - had realations with people of his own gender) - so these are all little gems.
Also - I don't ever get mad at people who think someone else wrote "We Are the Champions" - I just set them right, in a nice way. And I don't hate people who only know a few songs - I was that person once - with only a burned copy of Greatest Hits that enjoyed skipping during "Another One Bites the Dust".
