Hey Smartie.... Sorry if i was being harsh... it just didnt do it for me... maybe i need ot listen to some.... do you like Foo Fighters PLus Brian on have a cigar??
This is one of the songs that you listen to and don't remember anything afterwards. Except maybe that it's supposed to sound "epic". Brian's guitar is as uninspired as the whole song. Totally useless, and there is no reason why this has to last for seven minutes.
@mircal..no problem! I like the song, it definitely grew on me. But I have to admit, I'm also a Metal Loaf fan. Have you heard the track " Time for heroes" by Meat Loaf? It's from 1989 and Brian plays a nice solo somewhere in the middle which reminds me of the way he plays on The Miracle.
I know "Have a cigar" but I never liked it thaat much...never could figure out Brian's guitar on that one..
Brian is good. But I don't like Meat Loaf... its just more of the same! An example of Brian being more interesting than this would be that track "Someone to Die For".

True, that's one of his better collabs. But after the solo it seems to me that they just mixed in all the stuff he did after the solo. Sometimes feels like a bit much. Other times, it's not bad at all. Classic, if a little 'in the way', sounding. You know?
Adam.
Meat Loaf wasn't always the same. Around 1984 he began to work with a total new band. He experimented in different ways. I have a CD with some songs around that era (1984-1987). There are some nice songs among them, although he went quite poppy. There are rockers too, but synths were always there.
Meat Loaf + Jim Steinmann = Magic. But around 1984-1987 he didn't collaborate with him, due to a fight between them.
