Just got Roger Taylor's Strange Frontier album in the mail yesterday (bought it off amazon), and I gotta say, it's interesting.
I've always liked Roger's style of music, and it wasn't until now that I could hear a whole album's worth of it. My fave tracks are "Killing Time", "Man On Fire", and "Abandonfire". Also the cover of Dylan's "Masters Of War" is nice...
I don't know. I'm really into the electronic drums and synthesizers from the '80s, and Strange Frontier sounds pretty kickass.
Well, that's it for now. I wonder what Roger album I should check out next...?
Yes, I have SF and Fun In Space... they're very similar, so if you liked Stranged Frontier, I'd go there next.
I never have picked up anything else other than those two, so I'm not sure what the rest of his solo stuff is like. I do not like electronic drums (unless they're Bruford's) so I assumed he continued using them and I've never ventured further.
I Love This Album!!
Strange Frontier, Man On Fire, Killing Time and Young Love are my favourites song on this LP, But i consider that Happiness and Electric Fire are awesome!!! Nah Electric Fire is the best Roger album ever
I only like a few of rogers solo songs
Nazis, Man On fire, and Old Friends are awsome, but the the rest is on Paris Hiltons level or something.. At least Strange Frontier is :p
As Tiger pointed out the correct title I shant go there..lol.. but the first time I heard that track I didnt know it was Roger singing.. Silly me.. but it was awesome that they slowed DOWN his voice to make him sound like he was a soul singer.. kinda like Issac Hayes or Barry White.. I LOVE that track..
