^ No freakin' way! Me three. Along with maybe Innuendo and Stone Cold Crazy. It's such a fast song, so it's hard to sing clearly. |

Yay!! My dear's are agreeing me!!! I agree about Stone Cold Crazy!!!! |

I think the end of "One Vision" is hard. The part where he's like v-v-v-v-v-v-v-vision. He says it really fast and I can't do it haha. I also run out of breath on "Dear Friends" I guess thats just me ;-) |

Borhap80 29.09.2006 03:12 |
BoRhap, Who wants to live forever and Somebody to love aint that hard.. These songs are some of the hardest: 1. Innuendo (High-note range hroughout the song) 2. The Show Must Go On (Pure power. One has to be incredibly powerfull to sing this song, and have a large range. I've only heard one after Freddie (including Paul) who manage to sing this --> Chris Thompson. 3. You take my breath away (Freddie's timber at the time was very high, so it sounds easy.. Try yourself to sing it in the right key... It's kinda tricky to get it nice.. Radio Gaga... yepp... I've sung this some times and it just builds, and builds... It's really hard I've to say.. Scandal.... wooww...how did he do that!!! Gimme the prize - very difficult.. |

Don't Try So Hard would be hard, I think, for most people to maintain all those notes and yet give it that delicate sound that Freddie did. A lot of people would probably miss the point and try and shout most of it out. Mustapha! |
zaiga 29.09.2006 04:08 |
My Fairy King - some tricky falsetto's going on. Fairy Feller's Master Stroke - falsetto's and fast! Lap of the Gods, revisited... - changing from head voice to falsetto, tricky to do get right, Freddie couldn't do it live either Under Pressure - some crazy high notes Innuendo - powerful high notes All God's People - some crazy, powerful high notes in there as well Don't Try So Hard - high notes, very delicately sang Stone Cold Crazy isn't that hard, yes it's fast, but when you learn the words, it's not very difficult, same for Dead On Time. Somebody To Love isn't that very hard either, but, as with any song, the trick is to sing it with the right emotion. |
Elizabeth Knightson 29.09.2006 04:15 |
-Innuendo (hard high notes) -Kind of magic (if you want to imitate the exact Freddie studio version, quite hard) -Made in heaven (try the whole, very hard) -Who wants to live forever (try to give it the perfect softness of Brian, and to go as high as Freddie) -My Fairy King (Freddie=king of falsetto) -Another one bites the dust (yes, sounds easy, but try and reach Freddie rank "How do you think you're gonna get along wihtout...etc" without sounding like shrieking saw). lots of others... |
deleted user 29.09.2006 11:23 |
My Fairy King March of the Black Queen Bohemian Rhapsody Somebody To Love (I choose the last two mainly because of their 'classic' status and if you run a high risk of butchering both songs if you try to sing them seriously eg. at a choir performance of something) But it's Freddie Mercury and he is such a unique character as are all the others that any Queen song is hard to pull off! |
una999 29.09.2006 13:32 |
Body Language, or Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being honest - Killer Queen - the subtely of his voice, yet the power. |

March of The Black Queen. I just can't xD I don't have any problems with Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke, though :P I CAn sing Stone Cold Crazy - not as clearly as Freddie, but I CAN do it xD Who Wants To Live Forever is hard to pitch.. So is The Show Must Go On, Don't Try So Hard and about a dozen others :b |

Majority are hard to perform. Not many can come close to performing a Queen song like Freddie, you can only do your own rendition of a Queen song and hope it sonds good. I mean we struggled trying to do Bo-Rhap and WATC. |

A lot of them were hard to create onstage. With all the sound thingys and all the opratic parts too. But I reacon they are good songs to try onstage even if they are hard to perform. |

For me personally: The Show Must Go On and Another One Bites The Dust |
blerp 29.09.2006 17:04 |
I can't get into the beat of any of their late 80s/early 90s stuff. Of course Somebody to Love, and Bohemian Rhapsody! You and I isn't that hard to sing..I personally don't think Innuendo is hard either..even though my vocal range isn't that big |

Today I was thinking about 'Under Pressure'. If it's being done solo, then it's hard 'cause it goes high then LOW, etc. Fred was really good at falsetto, I might add. Ooh! Thanx Get Down! The Prophet's Song is really hard too. |
Miss Multiples aka colfarrell1 29.09.2006 19:08 |
AS the writer of this thread i would like to add a song to the category "Love Of My Life"!! That song jump's from being low to very high! What do u lovely people think? |

In the right key? All of 'em. I'm 6'4", and thus permanently two octaves below Freddie, Brian, or Roger. |
eenaweena 30.09.2006 00:09 |
all the songs with really high and solid notes are practiacally hard to sing. eg: somebody to love, bo rhap, tmotbq, innuendo, wwtlf, etc. :) |
Queen_Rox 30.09.2006 00:17 |
Hmmm, the hardest Queen song to sing...it depends on your voice range, but I'd say "Innuendo" or "The Hitman". Man! For a tenor singer with a baritone speaking range, Freddie really knows how to hit those high notes. |
deleted user 30.09.2006 15:58 |
I think we need to consider who's singing what and how in a song, too. For instance, in "Bohemian Rhapsody", their voices come together to make the final sound - the single parts I head on the GVHI "Making of the Rhapsody" thing were not that challenging, just very precise. This would be a challenging song to sing if you sing along with the LP/CD/radio and try to sound like four very different sounding men at once. Not so much if you sing just one part. The technology used to make all those parts (in many songs) come together is evident when listening to them live - things need to be changed. I couldn't say which is hardest to sing. For me, it's really a matter of singling out WHAT to sing. |
queen-for-a-day 21.11.2013 00:32 |
My Fairy King, definitly. I can hardly reach those high notes, it's amazing how high it goes! Also The Prophet's Song, Somebody To Love, March of The Black Queen, It's Late, Stone Cold Crazy and Under Pressure. Special mention to The Show Must Go On. It's incredible how Freddie sang it so good when he was in such a bad condition. It never fails to amazes me :) Also, You Take My Breath Away. |

Having tried them myself. This subject is all relative. First that came to mind is Another One Bites The Dust. Particularly because the tapes have been sped up something less than a semitone. That scowl is incredibly difficult. (Making Freddie' s gifts even that more apparent) Though I'm not sure if both the vocal AND the track are sped up or whether it's just the music. As a kid I struggled on my bass wondering why. Gotta agree that STL, BORHAP aren't the hardest. Freddie' s post 88 range is even higher and results in my efforts sounding almost always horribly strained like Michael Bolton in a higher register God I hate Michael Bolton 1) aobtd 2) tsmgo 3) loml (smoothly) 4) heaven for everyone Anything from the miracle onward that's high. Freddie didn't rely on falsetto and had an incredible voice (no shit Sherlock) dsmn is kinda tough (breath wise) but not the range God I hate Bolton |

I still sound like a whale farting underwater, but it wasn't too hard to sing. |
Thistle 21.11.2013 19:57 |
I can sing them all perfectly :p Actually, I can't sing that well at all, however I think Stone Cold Crazy is a real tongue-twister. I know the words, but just keep stumbling lol. |
DLCVinnuendo 21.11.2013 20:11 |

Chief Mouse 22.11.2013 14:43 |
For me it's any song which has a fairly high note in it. I just end up yelling, cracking or switching to falcetto. I have probably 1 octave range or something I assume, lol. |
notmswrd 18.05.2014 15:32 |
"The march of the black queen" I'd say is probably the most complex (vocally) Queen song to sing and if not then it's certainly a good contender. |

Not the greatest Queen song, but Cool Cat has to be one of the hardest....Surprised no one mentioned that one... |
Zamidoo 12.06.2014 06:56 |
For me, it has to be 'We are the champions'. Freddie usually let Roger take the high notes in the chorus when performing live, and even Roger usually sounded like he was screaming, despite having a naturally higher-pitched voice. It's a very awkward song to sing. I realise that it was usually done at the end of shows when everyone was tired, but the chorus is absolutely relentless. It's part of what makes the song great, but there is a good reason why you don't hear too many people singing it in the shower (other than it being a slightly inappropriate song to be singing to yourself while naked). Also... I disagree about 'Lap of The Gods...' Freddie switched from chest to falsetto easily in the Wembley concerts, for example. It probably suffered a little live in the earlier years because, again, it was often done at the end when everyone had already sung themselves out. |

Lap of the Gods. The intro, the falsetto's.. definitely up there. BoRhap, Somebody to Love.. maybe even I'm in Love With my Car. The guitar is exceptionally easy but to sing it like Roger takes a lot of vocal strength. Hope this helps some people! |
