Hi everybody....I just want to share this song with you... It´s from a tribute album. I have to be honest, I always think that all the tributes bands or songs or albums around Queen are pretty bad, maybe for the unique Queen sound, but for the first time I have listened to a very good, I mean very good cover of a Queen song...in this case "My Fairy King", and well...this song that I am posting here really got me amazed. What do you guys think? Here is the link: link |

I prefer Valensia's version of MFK to the Queen version. The rest of his tribute is also interesting, but the version of MFK is amazing. |
icefire 27.09.2006 09:06 |
cool..i will have to check something about this band..great work! MFK used to be my no.1 queen song..so it really gets me :) |
dysan 27.09.2006 09:22 |
The band is AMAZING! Not sure about the singing. |
Haystacks Calhoun II 27.09.2006 09:41 |
I thought that was GREAT!!!! Thanks for sharing! |
Haystacks Calhoun II 27.09.2006 09:44 |
In fact, I think it is BETTER than the original. |
Marcelo_argentina 27.09.2006 09:56 |
Hey!, Thanks for the comments guys, I am glad you like the song...and yes, probably the Valensia´s version is better than the original. Anybody intrested in the whole album? I got it and is worth it. Ok, see us. |
icefire 27.09.2006 10:41 |
of course interested.! i am.. i read some things about him..i heard his phantom of the opera and i think he's great..the things he say about queen are very true i guess from a professional point of view and technical things |
una999 27.09.2006 12:52 |
No it stinks! The music is prob better cos queen hadnt good equipment in 1973! That guy doesnt speek english as his first language - therefore it doesnt sound natural, infact it sounds painful |
una999 27.09.2006 12:53 |
He's german cos of the hssing - the S sound. Ruins the song - sure i'm getting a great laugh of it!!!!!OMG |
JeroenG 27.09.2006 13:13 |
Valensia is Dutch. I'm Dutch too. And he's a nice guy ^_^ |
icefire 27.09.2006 13:45 |
don't talk so much bullshit..about how terrible it sounds..it sounds rather powerfull.. he doesn't rate himself any close to queen of course..but his busic is pure tribute of high quality.. of course with such an equipment queen would probably had done thousand times better.. all in all don't be such an asshle to judge and critisize. queen is the best.. |

This is a great version indeed! There´s only one thing: I prefer the Freddie falsetto at the beggining of the song with the rest of the angelic choire behind him. Freddie did sound like an angel in this song!! Other than that, this band his amazing. Take care |

First of all "Take it easy guys"...you needn´t to fight for this...is just a song. Second, I am posting the whole album, for those who want it, as Icefire. Enjoy it! it´s'pretty cool. In third place, pay attention to "Liar". Finally this is the link: link Enjoy yourself! |

Isn't it official? |
Want To Live Forever 27.09.2006 22:04 |
Sounds good but never like the QUEEN original song. The guitars doesn´t have the great May feeling and the voice in the cover song is very agressive, the original voice from Freddie is agressive and sweet at the same time, and this other guy doesn´t have that power. listen to "mother Mercury, look what they´ve done to me... " he doesn´t have the feeling. I liked this version, very good, but NEVER like Queen. A good version anyway, i agree with Marcelo that most covers aren´t good and this is a very good one. thanks for sharing. Peace. . |

una999 28.09.2006 09:11 |
so the gereral opinion is that it STINKS - fantastic that I am correct. Some people feel strong about this - real fans know this sounds rubbish |
icefire 28.09.2006 15:31 |
you must be a real fan who knows what is right or wrong..it should be fantastic to be you :DD good luck anyway ;) |
icefire 28.09.2006 15:39 |
by the way the whole album is not impressive i think :) MFK is one exeption.. non-queen songs of valensia are interesting to me..maybe you have some to share ;) through email or smth.. |
Adam Baboolal 28.09.2006 16:22 |
Valensia's so-called "songs" of his own are blatant rip-offs of Queen stuff. He's nothing special, just a copycat. Adam. |
thetman 28.09.2006 17:25 |
interesting and there is some talent there for sure- but give me queen anyday-why settle for less when you can listen to the best! thetman |
The Real Wizard 29.09.2006 03:44 |
Valensia is very creative with some of their Queen covers. MFK and Liar are the best ones. |
Rick 29.09.2006 04:41 |
Hmm, it's a nice cover overall. I have the full album. Not really worth buying IMHO. I'm In Love With My Car is a terrible cover. But songs like SHA, MFK and Liar are quite good actually. But the Queen-sound is there for sure. |
icefire 29.09.2006 09:09 |
well probably agreed ;) queen is the best |
JeroenG 30.09.2006 11:44 |
Although the Queen cover-album from Valensia has some really great moments, like My Fairy King and his very-near-to-the-original-version-remake of Bohemian Rhapsody, there are some songs that less interesting in my opinion. On the other hand, I really like most of his own stuff, I can recommend for example his debut album Valensia/Gaia and his second album Kosmos very much. Check a complete discography on my website link |

Thay have really worked hard to make this album, that´s for shure!- Great production for a tribute album. The guitar player can play Queen like hell! Great work. Take care |

From what I have heard Valensia plays every instrument himself on the album, except the drums, they were played by his brother. Ofcourse he doesn't have the same power as Queen, or the Freddie sound.. but it's a bloody good tribute. Who cares if he has an accent.. Las Palabras, La Japonaise.. you honestly think Fred pulled that off without an accent? Anyway.. the way Valensia creatively interprids the Queen-sound and makes it his own is quite brilliant and if anyone claims otherwise, I say give it your best shot and try it. :) before anyone gets pissed off... this is just my opinion. No offence intended. |
