Using my DVD recorder (and scart leads) I recently dubbed the earl's court vhs onto 2 DVD-RWs. When I tried to play the show on the DVD-RW drive on my laptop it states the type of disc media is incompatable with the drive. The show plays fine though on the DVD-Recordable player. My DVD-RW is crap and always has had problems. Is there anyone here willing to upload these discs to Rapidshare if I send them on? The source is the Miracle Express VHS tape and although the picture appears grainy (age of VHS source) it is quite watchable. Format: PAL, 25 fps
You can't play a DVD RW on a player other than the recorder. You need to copy the VHS tape on to dvd -/+R not DVD RW. Then you will be able to extract the DVD files and upload them to Rapidshare or torrent the files.

You can't finalize DVD RW because it's rewriteable.
Indo77 ,you need to record the show on DVD -/+ R then finalize it. Not RW if you want to share it from your computer.

Well, on my Sony you can finalize it and use it anywhere and if you want to use it for something else, you can unfinalize it and use it for something else. That's how I transfer DVD-recordings from DVD-recorder to PC or to watch on another DVD player. (my daughters). ;-)

You can also do that with mines which is a Philips make.

Interesting, My recorder doesn't have an un finalize function. That would be great to have.
