That's utter crap. Internet Explorer is the worst piece of shit ever unleashed upon the internet. Its security is about as effective as a wire-screen-door in a bank vault.

If those 'experts' call Firefox worse than I.E., they must be on a Microsoft payroll. Ask any programmer, and they'll tell you (I, for instance, asked my uncle, who has been a professional programmer and systems analyst for 16 years, and is currently working on intranet applications for a large bank).
I more trust to IT-security guys from 'Bit9' ('those' experts) than to your uncle. Your "the best browser" (I don't remember which version) can't download RAR file for instance and trying to open it as notepad file.
IE is more popular therefore more 'bad guys' are looking to find "holes" there. It's very simple. Install Firefox on each PC and you'll see how 'good' it will be...
Well Firefox is loads more customizable and able to block junk such as Java (just don't install it), Flash ads (I adore the FlashBlock add-on), ads/images in general with AdBlock.
I would NEVER go back to IE as my primary browser, but I do use it here and there and when I need Java since it's built-in. That stand-alone Sun shit is indeed unsafe. The ONLY time I ever got a virus from browsing, it was related to Sun.
I'm sure both sides could argue on and on and it would amount to both browsers having faults (as any software does, being constantly evolving.. nothing will ever be perfect!) so to me it comes down to being educated about your browsing habits and simply choosing what works best for you :)

That's exactly what I think about Linux. Who'll waste their time trying to develop viruses and other shit for a system used by only a few people? I bet if 45% of the computers had Linux and 45% had Windows, Linux would be more dangerous, as the number of users would be the same as Windows, and as the source code is open for anyone, it would be a bit easier to find "holes".
Indeed. That's like saying that the house of poor man is more protected than the house of the rich man only because thieves prefer the "rich" house... But guys - there are other reasons for those thieves!
Same here - it's not well protected browser, it's just not-well-researched-for-the-holes browser, because very few people interested in that kind of research. From what I know - Firefox have some critical (for PC) holes which are more dangerous than any non-patched ( link is a good place if you're afraid for you IE) MS products.
