Question: "If you haven't watched it why do you start to discuss?" Answer: "To inform anyone who might want to watch it." Brilliant answer on the question! Pity I don't know on which one... I did the same. Informed everyone who might want to watch it why it's showing at such "not for kids" time. |

It was quite.... distasteful. I was so surprised at Peter saying 'his cock was huge'. Very shocked. I hate the fact that alot of his friends encouraged him to live in the fast lane and become heavily promiscuous when deep down he was longing for a real, lasting love. He ended up becoming quite careless in some ways. A friend asked him if he was bothered over the increased risk of AIDS and all he said was "Here's my attitude, dear - fuck it!" I was quite upset when they mentioned how he just looked for sex all the time and his involvement with drugs. But that's just the way he was, i guess. Deep down, i think Freddie was a shy man longing for real love... and in many ways he got it. I don't have anything against Jim Hutton but one thing i did notice about him was how self-centered he could get. He kept on mentioning how the ending of TATDOOL was all dedicated to him. When he uttered those words "I still love you" i'm guessing he meant it as a goodbye to everyone, including Jim perhaps... but also to his fans. That is quite clear from his past performances with the audience like at Milton Keynes and Wembley where those particular words were said towards the crowd. When Jim and Peter briefly mentioned Freddie's death i started to cry. "That was it... he had gone" After that was said near the end i just couldn't contain myself. I've never cried so much in all my life!! Sad, i know... but seeing that Freddie had such a wonderful life and the fact that, wherever he is, he is well and happy is such a warming thought. :) |

Regretfully I did watch this show once a while back but have no desire to see it again, it made me uncomfortable....I suppose nobody really wants to hear such intimate details about their heroes do they? He's no longer here to confirm or deny all those claims...though something tells me he wouldn't have argued with Peter Freestone's 'size' quote....;) |

I don't know... it was really all kiss-and-tell stuff wasn't it?? Before watching the stuff of of Youtube, I didn't realise just how little I cared about Freddie's being gay and his wild love life. All I know is he was a genuine romantic human being whose sweet shy nature mixed with his exotic 'foreigness' and electrifying performance and on stage made me fall utterly in love with him (in no other sense than the greatest-respect-I-can-offer type love) and not his crazy antics offstage. He was a ROCKSTAR IN THE 70'S AND 80'S FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! IT'S WHAT THEY DID (most of them anyway)staging, and attending, semi-debauched parties. Yeah I know Queen, particularly Freddie, often went a bit overboard but that's beside the point. I think people have gotten up to a LOT worse than Freddie, probably, in fact, definitely not just famous rock stars, it's only because Fred was so coy about his life offstage, that the press slathered it for the public to see. About 3 quarters of it was probably lies and the rest exaggerated. I respect Freddie's lifelong decision to keep his secrets whilst still being cool with the idea that people do ask questions about their idols to answer them to a certain degree. The most intriguing thing about Freddie was not his eclectic lovelife, but his songs, his voice, his onstage persona, even his goddamn onstage WARDROBE, would have been more pleasant to watch than that shit. Who do these blokes think they are exploiting their time with Fred like that? I thought Phoebe and Straker at least were close friends of his. Surely they would know this is the last thing he would have wanted. Finally I hold great admiration for Mary (and hopefully the other members of Queen including 'prettyboys' Rog and Bri, that made me laugh) for steering clear of this rag. |
