I loved doing my first mix yesterday that I decided to try my hand at another. It's Play the Game with a bit of a wanna-be-stred-cred-1991-Queen-remix type beat. There's also the piano line from the begining of Spread Your Wings mixed within the song...it's of more prominence at the end. Hope you like it. I'll get good at this one of these days. link
Well, I have to say, I'm quite impressed! At first, I thought "Oh shit! A hip hop version!", but it does kind of work, and you've synched it almost perfectly. The edits to keep it in time are very good. Just a couple of things I didn't like - there's a bit of piano, perhaps from SYW about a third of the way through, which sounds a bit off key, and I didn't really like the guitar solo being drowned, but apart from that, well done!

Thanks so much and I had those things on my mind as well. I didn't treat the guitar solo as a guitar-solo but in retrospect and I would've made it more prominent as you mentioned.
And as far as the out of tune piano...I noticed that as well. I shifted it's pitch down a whole step from D to C and that's what I got - a piano with a "chorusy" sound to it. My thought is that either it's a byproduct of the pitch shift or either PTG or SYW was recorded at a slightly different pitch (though I think the latter is unlikely). To justify it to myself I just picture it as a old standup piano...just like mine - the outta-tuneness is part of it's charm :)
