Please pay attention to vocal of Queen songs on following page link especially Mercury part with different vocalist, with your comments here and there. Also, please set proper marks, in case you like singing.
I add track of Queen group periodically on this page.
Is this you? You have a BEAUTIFUL voice! The only thing I would say is that you don't need to do the vocal effects/layering.. your voice is so nice by itself.
You Take My Breath Away, Save Me, Don't Lose Your Head.. these are excellent I think. Thank you for sharing these. I really enjoyed them :)
I wish more people would use the karaoke mixes to show off their voices.
Some of it was pretty good. But some just sounded like a lot of forcing of his voice. Especially Hammer to fall. And his vibrato was a bit much at times. I thought the pronounciation of some words was a bit weird too.
Stand out bits were Don't Lose Your Head, Radio GaGa and Break Free.
Peace,
Adam.
P.S. A Winter's Tale has DEFINITELY got Autotune on his voice which makes me wonder what else it's on... Sorry, that's just a bit disappointing after thinking he did it without. And now it seems he probably hasn't. *goes back to listen* Now I hear it on others too...
Hummer To Fall, eh? Now there's a painful idea.....
Your voice is powerful and well (auto-?)tuned, but you could do with some English lessons. Any idea what you're singing about?
Hey guys, he can't help his accent. I agree it's quite prominent, but I don't think it's fair to criticise him for it. English is obviously not his native language, but you don't have to have elocution lessons to be a Queen fan. :)
Lord Fickle, I don't mean to put anyone down. I just think it's really important to know what you're singing about, as it makes the vocals come alive.
In this case the singer doesn't just have an accent, he has enriched the English language with a few dozen new words. Of course that is a contribution in itself, but probably not one he was looking for....
Your voice is really good!
Yes, I agree that the pronounciation should be a little improved, to get those song sound even better.
Ok, now that I see we have good listeners and expert mixers (well, Adam and Lord Fickles mixes have gained all my admiration, really!)I'll submit some of the songs I've sang just for fun... I'd like to have your opinions about them and, if you like, some hints on how to improve (including my English, which isn't - as you'll have already guessed - my native language).
In the meantime please listen to "These are the Days of our Lives" in the section dedicated to fans covers... :-)
Well 'Don't Lose Your Head' wass good. But 'A Winter's Tale' I have to say I wasn't impressed. The ending wasn't even attempted, probably because that's the hardest part of the song.
That is my favourite Queen song and that just doesn't do it for me. Sorry
This is a little thing I made just for fun...
It's a 'fake live' we-will rock you, with, attached, my 'karaoke version' of I want it all..
any comment (insults excluded) is welcome!!!
:-D link
While I didn't really like the WWRY part... *still listening* Oh... not really liking IWIA either now. Shucks...
My main concern is the kinda over-dramatical breathing and groaning in between lines. Almost like you're "playing" at being Freddie. And a lot of it is off-key and quite forced at times.
Kudos for the high part before Brian's bit is. And good overall recorded sound too. But a terrible couple of bits at the end.
Peace,
Adam.
Ouch... quite a severe judgement Adam! :-(
I honestly don't think it's so frequently off-hey.. there are bits sometimes, but within an acceptable limit of 'roughness' for one who refuses to use auto-tune.
Obviously the vouce is a little bit forced, but I thought it remained into the 'normal' rocky style... even though nothing is really normal when you deal with vocal parts originally sang by a certain "Freddie Mercury".
This said, thanks anyway for your critics..
Great voice, English is NOT his native voice, but so what!!! I wonder if Freddie, got it right with the Japanese part of "Teo T" sounds good to us english speaking people, but I wonder what his voice sounds like to someone from Japan?
Also, "Zucchero" is an international star, Great singer, but he hasn't quite got the English right. so again, so what!!! just enjoy Queen's music for what it is.

You said you didn't want insults - lol!
Well, I have listened, and I won't be as harsh as Adam, because I admire you for having the balls to post yourself singing. It's more than I would ever do. However, you sound more like Klaus Meine from The Scorpions than Freddie, and the edits could do with some work too. It's very obvious going from a live recording into a studio version. Maybe you could have overdubbed some crown noise onto at least the intro of IWIA? Have to agree with Adam about the grunts and groans though. No offence! :)
:-D thanks for the observations, Lord Fickle.
Adams were a little too severe... most of all the part saying I was offkey (grrr.. no way!)
Your comments are useful: I'm trying to improve my abilities in mixing/editing songs and, after listening to your mixes, I'm pretty sure I do have a lot to learn! (by the way, what about my little work on love is the hero? have you heard that?)
Also, opinions on my singing style are important to me, now that I'm recording some songs of mine in a studio (a different quality and a different style from what you heard there, anyway)... of course training with Queen is quite a hard deal, but the best way to improve, I deem.
The "Klaus Meine" idea isn't that offensive! I like the guy's voice. Jokes apart, I never really mean to imitate Freddie's voice (the inimitable is inimitable), even though I admit that in this IWIA my voice's sound was a little 'forced' to a rougher sound than my usual, since it was done really.. 'for fun'.
Ok... this is all. Thanks and all the best.
Roy.
p.s. Great mix of Don't stop me now, yours.
I think when you hear a Queen song, which Freddie originally sang, anyone else singing just isn't going to sound right, unless, of course, they can perfectly emulate Freddie, which is virtually impossible. As I said, respect to you for posting your recording - Queen fans can be a savage load of tarts! Lol!
