This is a fantastic 25 minutes megamix of Queens/Freddie Mercurys and Brian Mays greatest hits. This one is very well done by a DJ called Ben Liebrandt from the netherlands and he used absolutly no additional effects or beats...only the originals. For queen fans very enjoyable...I think! link Hope you all enjoy...and feel free to leave a comment! |

Ben is a legend!! _O_ He made lots of great mixes! |

He is indeed a great DJ mixer and he became famous when he started in 1982 making a grandmix which is a 1 hr. mix with all the greatest hits from each year and he still makes them every year. also a lot of short mixes was made by him. for instance the famous one where he mixes Genesis "Mama" with Queen's "We will rock you". A true mastermixer, the best of our country |

Are you sure it's made by Ben Liebrandt, I have my doubts about it. The most changes in the songs are sounding very bad, off beat, false, or just doesn't fit. |

The Fairy King 24.07.2006 12:47 |
lol this indeed not Ben's mix, it's very poor. |

Well, a few things... Any mix of Ben's that I've heard I've ended up deleting.. they just don't appeal to me for some reason. And there's never been a T on the end of his name... link Based on the fact that this mostly sucks though, I'd be willing to accept it as one of his.. LOL. The one positive thing I can say is that the re-edited drums from Don't Stop Me Now are very cool (around 5:00) and the overlay of 'A New Life' works the first couple times before everything falls apart again ;) |

This mix isn't THAT bad. I actually like it. |
Digitube 25.07.2006 09:14 |
This made me curious. Okay, I downloaded the mix and I'm listening to it now. It's definetely NOT Ben Liebrandt. If Liebrandt would have made this, he would have jumped in front of a train I guess when listening to it afterwards. This is the work of an amateur really. If people like it: then great. Who am I to tell something stinks and people should not enjoy it? So go on and enjoy if you like this. *I* think this is a veeeeery amateuristic mix. Just parts of songs being glued together, with 4/4 beats stumbling into 6/8, tempo 110 suddenly going into 132 :-S If I'll try to dance on this mix, I'll probably twist my ankle :-S Okay, I "rewinded" the mix, now let's go through this step by step! :-) Ah. Barcelona. Huh? What's this noise? Ah..the beginning of Flash Gordon. I can hardly hear what Ming is saying. Bad one. Okay, Bo Rhap now. OUCH concrete wall going from the harmonies to the unisono bit. Now wait, is this a mix? How long is Bo Rhap going on now. Oh. Somebody to love now. Man what a crossfade. Concrete wall no 2. Oh the end of the choir bit now. Bad one. Noooo!!!...the dramatic piece of Fred (somebody tooooooo!) mixed with the beginning of CLTCL! This is mustard on my cake! OMG, Innuendo mixed into it. What a mistake. The CCTCL going into Innuendo is a big noise indeed. Ouch, hard change in vocal-line. Concrete wall once more. Don't stop me now. Just a cheap crossfade this one. Ah, a line from Breakthru. The mixer must have been very pleased with this one doing it four times. Annoying. The beat doesn't fit the rest of the Breakthru vocalpart. Bicycle race now. Hard crossfade. Concrete wall once more. Ouch. Hey what had that bell to do over there? Hmm. Mistake? Fades very quick again. BR once more. Going on for a loooong time. Beginning of Fat bottomed girls mixed together with the bells of Race. Yeck. What's the trick or the kick in this one?? TSMGO now. Hard crossfade. Concrete wall again! Going into The Miracle. Don't feel the trick, or is there no kick or trick in this? End to fall?? Okay, Hard Life begins. It might have been one of the other 217 Queentracks though. 108 of them would have made a better crossfade. Breakthru? Wow, the biggest concrete wall till now. Pffff. Quick crossfade again. Is this art? Ah, Flash Gordon parlando's again. What's the use? Going on into Flash. Totally different beat/feel than 20 seconds ago. My oh my, this causes listeners fatique. AOBTD now. Hard crossfade again. Cannot get a kick out of this. ABTD going on in IWTBF is actually a better one. Okay, this one is nice. Only the repetetive I want to I want to I want to I want to I want to I want to is a bit annoying. Ah it's changed in Gaga now. Aaaiiiiiii the chords of those two songs don't match. Terrible! Ah bassriff of Under Pressure now. Dear mixer, If you insert a bassriff in another song, please make sure those notes don't bite the ruling chord in song no. 2 PLEASE?? This makes my toes dance the macarena inside my shoes really :-S Hard crossfade again, just Pressure now. That bassriff should not be there. The chord is a different one from the one that riff accompanied. Beginning of Slightly mad mixed with it. Chords don't match once again. Ouch. OMG, Slightly mad turns into YMBF now. Hard crossfade no 17 I guess. Feel's like hitting a concrete wall once more. Now that one goes into Invisible man. Concrete wall number 14 by now. Nice lyricjoke with ha ha ha you don't fool me, but the feel is totally wrong. Wonder what song follows this one :-) Ah first some more cuts in YDFM itself. Ouch. Personally I think that the bassriff in YDFM would be a nice one to lead into AOBTD, but nooooo, we're rolling into AKOM now. Rrrrright..... :-S Two totally diverse beats. Hardest concrete wall sofar, thanks! :-| Rhythm of one of the 436 versions of Living on my own follows. Nice try, almost sounds good. What's next now? :-| DRIVEN BY YOU NOW?? Aargh :-S Concrete wal |

It has far too many hard crossfades, and it's more a collection of fragments glued together with no sense of rhythm at all then a proper mix. Another one bites the dust.!!!!!!!!!!!!please read my post above...i have told you who it was...and it's form a video called Perry's Queen Video Megamix from 2001 |

LOL And read my post too.. I link to Liebrand's official site. There is no T at the end of his name. See, everyone gets ignored Brenski, relax ;) |
