okay guys and girls, i heard an amaizing song on the radio like 2 days ago and now that i am searching for it all melody and lyrics escape me. When the song started I instantly thought i was listening to a beatles song, it was soft piano for the most part and the vocals where very high in pitch but soft. after a min. or two it became apparent that this was no beatles song but Queen, so now i search in vane for this remarkable song. Obviously this is going to be nearly impossible but does this ring a bell with anyone? thanks in advance for any help you can offer, -Bluesboy |
beautifulsoup 23.06.2006 14:05 |
You know, there's a Queen song that sounds like Beatles to me...if I could only remember it. LOL. Seriously, though. I'll see if I can track it down. P.S. - Random, and not exactly related to this, but I've always thought that "Thank God it's Christmas" has a definite John Lennon feel to it. |
bluesboy 23.06.2006 14:09 |
hit the wrong button and made a new post, thanks for the help i know its not much to go on at all, the song was so good, and if i remember correctly the entire song was rather soft and high pitched. the content lyricly also if i remember correctly seemed rather reflective but i cant remember any specifics =/ -Blueboy |
deadbird 23.06.2006 14:21 |
well, the most beatles-esch somg I can think of is "life is real" but i cant see that being played on the radio... it starts with piano and the fred comes in with "guilt stains, on my pillow..." ... honestly thats really kind of difficult to say because Queen probably have a BILLION songs and probably more than half of them have pretty piano and a high voice. I'd go to, if you have it, itunes, and listen to previews of songs under QUEEN and see if you can find what you are lookin for. good luck. |

im still working on listening to the suggestions so far but i did check the lyrics for them and they dont seem to be ringing a bell, for some reason i think he mentions something about doing something on his own or being on his own, not sure this might be more harmful than helpful, -Bluesboy |
bluesboy 23.06.2006 14:31 |
track 13 off which album? -Bluesboy |
beautifulsoup 23.06.2006 14:31 |
Okay, the song I was thinking of definitely doesn't match your description, and they wouldn't have played it on the radio, anyway. Sorry. (But some of "Long Away" has a Beatles vibe to me. Go figure. I suppose it's mostly the guitar sounds and the chords at the beginning, and before the refrains). |

maybe: Life is Real |

I know it's, it's, it's... damm, I forgot. If you heard it on the radio it was probably a single release. What country do you live in? Can't think of any Beatle-sounding Queen songs though. Perhaps 'Long Away'? |
beautifulsoup 23.06.2006 15:19 |

beautifulsoup 23.06.2006 15:22 |
I'll confess that I've often thought Paul McCartney could sing "Good Company," though. (Does that mean Brian could sing "When I'm 64?") Yeah, okay - In know that was totally random. I'd best leave now. :D |
pcgenius9 23.06.2006 15:24 |
I'm just trying to think of what song they may actually play on the air nowadays. |
mattsmith 23.06.2006 15:55 |

kohuept 23.06.2006 17:28 |
Actually, after having just read another thread, it could be Don't Try So Hard, though that one seems unlikely to have been on the radio. |

bluesboy is in the US. I'll be impressed that a US station would play anything other the AOBTD or Under Pressure nowadays. <<sighs>> |

Im thinking good old fashioned lover boy is what your talking about. It has very soft piano at the begining and freddie sings in a high voice. |
Fireplace 24.06.2006 09:14 |
How about Leaving Home Ain't Easy? That sounds pretty Beatlesque to me. |
magicalfreddiemercury 24.06.2006 11:12 |
All Dead, All Dead sounds Beatlesque to me. Brian's voice sounds like a cross between Paul and George in that one. |
FreddiesGhettoTrench 24.06.2006 12:11 |

It was written by Carole King in the 60s and recorded by (among others) Dusty Springfield. It's a slow song that's far easier to find this millenium than it was in the last one. |
