I didn't know Marillion, but I understand you. It's woderful when 2 stars of 2 different groups are friends. Once upon a time I found a video with Queen playing with Anastacia. I love her songs!
"Fish" used to be the lead singer of Marillion also know as Derek W Dick (remember Freddie used to like a guy called "Dick" Dick ... ;-) But that has no reference to "Fish"
"Fish" a.k.a. Derek William Dick, better known as Fish (born 25 April 1958 in Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland), is a Scottish progressive rock singer, lyric writer and occasional actor. After a patchy career as a gardener and forestry worker, he came to public attention in 1981 with the British group Marillion, which he left in 1988. It is widely believed that the name Fish arose from his drinking habits, however, according to Fish himself, the name originates from the amount of time he spent reading in the bath. link
Marillion:
Rock group formed in Aylesbury in 1979, whose 13 studio album career is generally regarded as comprising of two distinct eras, delineated by the departure of original frontman Fish in late 1988 after their first 4 albums and the subsequent arrival of replacement Steve Hogarth in early 1989, with whom a subsequent 9 albums have been released to date. The core lineup of Steve Rothery (the sole remaining original member), Pete Trewavas, Mark Kelly and Ian Mosley has been unchanged since 1984. The band has enjoyed critical and commercial success with a string of UK top 10 hits spanning their career and even an entry into the Guinness book of records link
Marillion also supported Queen on their Magic tour in 1986
June 14th - Hippodrome De Vincennes (supporting Queen): Paris, France
June 21st - Maimarktgelande (supporting Queen): Mannheim, Germany
June 26th - Waldbuhne (supporting Queen): Berlin, Germany
July 19th - Mungersdorfer Stadion (supporting Queen): Koln, Germany

Besides that they hav great songs... for example the huge hit Kayleigh
I'm afraid that was 20 years ago. They've had a new singer (Steve Hogarth) since 1988 and are still very much alive, but without the theatrics.
SW of Porcupine Tree* produced some of Fish's solo-albums. But I don't like Fish's music. he appeared a couple of times with Spike Edney's SAS Band.
