Who are these "experts" picking out the "top" bootlegs? Every show up for sale I own in better quality, as do many others here. I just don't get why they don't unearth the soundboard recordings. They can't possibly think they're making all the money they potentially could by releasing audience recordings, many of which aren't great, even by bootleg standards. |

Ah, because Greg Brooks probably screwed all of them up when he cataloged them. They asked him for Birmingham 1984, and he asked them why they didn't just put the 7th night in Hawaii in 1987 out there. It has a cool soundcheck with it! I personally didn't know the Works tour lasted that long. They must have decided to do a special setlist for that 1986 concert in the UK that they filmed. Greg can't remember where it is but he guesses Scotland. But really, they are being super lazy and just uploading the LP/CD/Tape/(whatever) of the original bootleg releases onto the computer, uploading it online, and passing it off as a treat. Lazy Fokers. |

I must say, I only ever downloaded one of these - think it was the Jazz Final one - and I was imminently disappointed. I'm a dabbler in bootlegs, not very hardcore about these things at all. Additionally, most of mine are on vinyl too. But the quality of these next to most of those which I own (Zepp, The Who, U2, Tom Waits, a few others, some Queen) is appalling. This is one aspect of new Queen stuff that I thought would really float my boat. But it's just been pish, really. Very disappointing. <marks report card, "must do better"....> |

They would be better off downloading bootlegs from this website and then selling it, then selling what they sell now. |

I am getting very disillusioned with this. |

They didn't get acces (you have to share 2 GB at least, which means they had to GIVE something first) so they had to stick to the crap quality, assuming Queen fans buy anything that bears the Queen name. |

At least the money goes to the Phoenix Trust Fund... and let's not start attacking Greg Brooks. The last thing we need his him to come around here some more, shooting his manlove all over the place again.... |

Greg has little to nothing to do with the official bootlegs, if I have my facts right. |

it’s disapointing that queenonline.com issue bootlegs as downloads. i won’t buy any of the stuff on the line. i finding this a very stupid way of bringing queen concerts. i hope they use their sences and issue original soundboard recordings of their own that still is hidden in the queen vaults. the smart way of doing things is releasing KNEBWORTH PARK’86 on official music products. because this is their last and 20 years. not too forget early 70s queen concerts on the official market around the world. by this way i surely would buy queen stuff. but not bootlegs downloads, these i search on the net. why they don’t release far more soundboard recordings on the market. |
breakthru1989 13.06.2006 17:15 |
by the way if i would have my say on queenonline i do this.. i’d search with other s from queenonline around the world for queen soundboard recordings. i would begin in 1970,1971,1972....right to the end in 1986 at knebworth park . check it if the quality is good. maybe an complete concert the date name it. audio by audio and video by video. quickly as possible only with the beast quality issue knebworth on lp,cd,single,DVD AND BOOK. after that hammersmith odeon 1979,followed by greatest video hits 3,earls court 1977 going back bebin again at 1986 budapest,rio,1982 usa gig, buenos aires march 8,1981 going back i think that would be better than issue bootlegs. so again i won’t buy bootlegs at queenonline. only original soundboard. |
