Som eof you might be asking what does she have to do with Queen, well she sang Somebody to Love, I believe, on the Spanish tribute CD to Queen Tributo A Queen. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years back and she was able to get rid of it but it came back again. RIP Soraya
That's really sad...
Soraya, for those who don't know, was a young Colombian singer, well, she was born in the U.S. but her family was from Cali, Colombia, the city where I live in.
She had 5 albums, and won a grammy.
She made a beatiful spanish version of Save Me (Salvame)... one of the best Queen versions ever made... maybe the best on the latin tribute...
Soraya, We'll Miss You...
RIP.
"ama, ama, salvame"
She is not Spanish is Colombian.
She made a very nice spanish version of "Save Me" (Salvame), one of my favourites Queen covers ever made in spanish lenguaje.
She was a great singer un Latin America.
Descanse en Paz, Soraya.
I'm f"·$kin sad, she was a fantastic songwriter, with amazin skills, a very underrated singer, she deserves as much attention as shakira recieves, im sad my friends, im gonna miss her a lot
Me and the guy who wrote the Van Halen 101 book with the Brian May forward, we set up her P.A. system when she played a gig in Miami Beach.
I remember her as being very nice and had a short conversation with her. I still have the cd she gave me. Its a briliant piece of work, for people who are into that type of music.
We met alot of famous people including Rudy Sarzo, Carl Wilson, Enrique Iglesias, Christian Castro, Gary Moore, etc.
