Anyone else have this CD? It might be a bit rare or something, but it's a neat little thing. 11 very good Queen songs (I Want It All, Sheer Heart Attack, Dust, Save Me, Rock You, Champions, Tie Your Mother Down, Get Down Make Love, Keep Yourself Alive, One Vision, It's Late) are "metalled up" by various famous faces in the rock/metal scene.
And what are your thoughts on it? Personally, I think it's WONDERFUL, done incredibly well and introducing some amazingly good guitar riffs that might be on par with the original. I mean, I might even prefer their version of I Want It All and their Save Me is pretty grand too, though less sweet than the original. Anyhow, this album is much, much, much better than that Killer Queen CD, which is mostly crap apart from about four songs.
It isn't the best, but ok, some of it! lol The only reason i have it is because i know Bruce & Bob Kulick personally, and mine is signed by Bruce in Sliver, but other than that, not too great.
'It's Late' was surprisingly great. Loved how the guitars were somewhat 'flanged' (Beatle fans will know what I mean). Wish the Queen version sounded this good.
Of course, the vocals were lacking. But it was a very 'true' effort.
'Sheer Heart Attack'...well done. And 'One vision'. Nice attempts.
The others....thirty seconds into a track, and it was try the next one. Thirty seconds later....
The next day we put it up on eBay.
The 'Guitar Tribute CD' is the only thing we've come across that's anything above dreadful in the cover area, though we still enjoy the bluegrass version of 'Fat Bottomed Girls'. Can't recall the band. Corny, but fun.
