I'm assuming here that Brian, Roger and Paul will use Danny Miranda as the bassist on the new album. But who would you prefer? Here's my shortlist:
John Deacon (obviously)
Bruce Foxton (of The Jam)
The Mad Bass Player Out Of The Stranglers (of The Stranglers)
Roddy Murray (of The Dancing Mice)
What does everyone else think?
I know this may be a stupid question, but when John "retired", did he also retire from doing any thing else with Bri and Rog. I quess my question is, what is the chance that John could record a album then go back to planting flowers.
I doubt John will be involved.
Sorry to say it, but i don't see it happening. Now i;m usually the one who says there is always a chance...but not this time.
John will stay away and get on with the life he has now.
well, i think Brian and Roger should ask John if he want to do it. But not sending a letter like they did about the tour. they should go to his house, have a nice conversation explaining the project. doing an album could be less "dangerous" for a quiter guy as john is. I'm sure that back in 1997 when Roger lobbied on Brian to record "No-One but You" as Queen they didn't sent a letter to John.. they talked directly with him. i e-mail brian a month or so ago asking if John would be called for the album..he haven't replied. i think we should all send e-mails to him to ask for John in the studio album.
If John refuse to join Brian and Roger are pretty much competent to do the job.

Sad truth is is that John wouldn't have any desire to do so. Danny Miranda is an excellent bass player, and seriously kicked some ass on this last tour, so my vote is with Danny!!
Danny's one of the best bass players on the planet, and he will be more than up to the task should they record a new album.
I've followed Danny's playing for the past 10 years, having seen him perform in Blue Oyster Cult over 100 times, a number of gigs out on Long Island with a quirky funk outfit, Voodoo Bisquit, with Q+PR a number of times, and I have heard him on numerous records.
Danny's name is consistently at the top of people's short lists when they go looking for a player who can do anything - including guitar, keys, drums, trumpet, composing, etc., etc. . .
What I wrote in his bio for the Q+PR.com website isn't hyperbole in the least. The fact that he's a close friend doesn't really play into my assessment. I watched him play and listened to his records for a couple of years before I ever got to meet him.
Now there's something i've never heard of....but find interesting to ponder: Brian playing Bass!
Hmmmm......interesting.
Now we all know Roger can rock on Bass.....maybe he could guest on a track?
This is silly...we all know Danny will more then likely be the man. I mean, why now really since he IS in the Band that is Queen + Paul R?
I think realistically they might not bother drafting someone in who would then get performance credit and money - Im pretty sure Brian can more than handle Bass playing if needs be - didnt he play Bass on many of his own songs.
Seems pointless to get in anyone other than the three of them.
