I was at Brianmay.com recently, and I came across his soapbox...(which I always read by the way) and I guess during his concert in detroit, he was say how eminem doesnt get enough respect in his home town....and this and that...well, it really surprised me, because, well...it just doesnt seem like he would be an eminem, let alone, a rap fan for matter...lol Another question: Didnt eminem sample a Queen song, and thats why they used his music in their recent tour? |

To respect a fellow artist doesn't make one a fan. Brian might like his music, but he isn't neccesarily a fan. Or perhaps he is, who knows. Thank God Brian and Roger are more open-minded than most of the forum, they can see that people like Robbie, Five or Avril can make good records too. |

Obviously, I can't even picture Roger and Brian listening to rap let alone writing, recording, and performing that kinda music; otherwise, Freddie would say to himself "what the bloody hell are those two doing? Winter Land Man 25.04.2006 22:13 |
Brian co-wrote a couple Eminem tracks right? Or the music was older, but Eminem DID ask permission, literally going to his house. And Eminem's favorite band is Queen. Freddie liked opera, does that mean he must do opera? Eminem likes rock, but he does rap. On the old Eminem site, the links section first link was link |

Look yeah no matter what anyone say's Roger said he was a fan of Eminem. Now I know that's crazy coming from Roger Taylor but he probibly likes abit of the Eminem thing going on there. I personally think Eminem isn't my type of music and I only can just about like two of his songs....Scary eh? Yeah well, one of them was used at the Hyde Park concert I was at before they came on. Also shows who's choice that was....Roger's ofcourse. When I first heard 'Lose Yourself' at Hyde Park concert I was like "what the hell, why is HE on?" I didn't get what Eminem had any connection to do with Queen. It's all clear to me now, his connection is Roger....Strange. |

"they can see that people like Robbie, Five or Avril can make good records too." Who's not openminded? I listened to each one of the acts you list here, and came to the conclusion they simply weren't for me. Robbie Williams has some pretty songs in his repertoire but he is vocally deficient. Five, they didn't interest me. Avril Lavigne, meh... just too young to be convincing when it comes to shitting on society. As for Eminem - he's a master lyricist. He just hasn't got anything worth listening to to say. |

> Who's not openminded? I listened to each one of the acts you list here, and came to the conclusion they simply weren't for me. Well, you're one in a million then. Most people would accept them only because they're trendy (depending on the year), or reject them because they're too young, or too gay, or too marketted, or don't write their material or whatever. Although Avril does compose... my point is that very few actually give informed opinions. |
