Well, in elementary school the champions was our mascot/slogan thing and we were called the champions so they played We Are The Champions on the intercom at the end of each year and we all did the We Will Rock You stomp on the bleachers (I didn't know the song then but I followed along lol) and I heard Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio with Mom and my cousin and Another One Bites the Dust when I was little so last September 2005 I bought their greatest hits :o) |

I've always liked their music, since I was like 4 and heard "WWRY" on the radio. My sister taught me the words. After that I tried to fit in with all the other kids and listened to their music. But no one liked me anyway, no matter how hard I tried... so that's when I went back to Queen. There's also something attatched to Queen that really drew me in, but it's really personal and I'd rather not share it. Brian drew me in too. All that curly hair! I used to think that he was Freddie Mercury and the guy with the 'stache was Brian May. |

I searched for Queen on yahoo music cause I liked the name...I was like wow Queen sounds like a cool band name...this was only about like a year and a half ago accually and so I see they have a song Bohemian Rhapsody and I'm like...wow what a weird name let me listen to it so I watch the music video and I instantly fall in love with Freddie and the song just was the most amazing thing I had ever heard and it made me cry just listening to it...and ever since then...I LOVE QUEEN!!!!!!<3 |

When I was about 7, I thought it was cool to have a lot of CDs so I just grabbed Queen's Hot Space album. A couple of years later I found it buried in my closet and decided to listen to it. "This sucks" I thought to myself. So I took it out and gave it to my mom and she told me to put it into her stereo so she could listen to it. Then when it came on I fell in love when I found out that they sang "Under Pressure." Ever since I've been hooked...like drugs. |

What got me in to Queen was Bohemian Rhapsody one day on VH1 then shortly after that there was a 2 hour documentry which caught my heart and I was amazed at how GREAT and AWESOME this band was. I remember saying to myself, "WOW, look at the dude on the piano with the black nail vanish and black flicked eyeliner!" then I would look at Brian and say, "OMG this guy is so handsome, his hair JUST LOOK AT HIS HAIR!" I fell in love with him instantly. I thought to myself when I looked at John, "Awww he's so diffrent from the others he doesn't look comfortable in what he is wearing." and really I have read in one of my Queen biographys that John didn't agree with most of the things Freddie suggested they wore on stage because it was camp, really. To be honest they don't show much of Roger in Bohemian Rhapsody but when they did I first noticed he looked abit nervous for some reason. Overall I was so blown away by this band, that I looked in to there history straight away and got hooked ever since.... No one got me in to Queen as such. VH1 did. =D |

The first thing i remember was seeing an excerpt of Bohemian Rhapsody, in an arts and culture show on the TV... i was like 10 so I found weird but cool (the four faces part)... But, what made me a fan was the song INnuendo... I was 10 when the album was released and that video changed my life... it was scary, darky, so different to the music i was listening at the time (Guns, latin rock, Metallica, Poison, Michael Jackson, Vanilla Ice, Mc Hammer)... It was like seeing god... 6 or 8 months later, freddie died and i was sooo sad... I dioscover my idol and he dies... |

i blame it all on THE INVISIBLE MAN 1989!!! :) i just turned 9 years old when i stumbled on queen...and from that moment on i got totally hooked on them. "breakthru" became the very first single that i bought (from my own money!). i was proud as hell! :) when freddie died in 1991 it almost felt like losing a family member. he and his music have been with me all the time, whereever i would go i'd have queen on my walkman. i remember it so cleary...coming down to the kitchen at morning of november 25th '91, my father sitting at the breakfast-table and telling me that freddie died the night before. at first i pretended i don't care - but then i went up to my room and cried my eyes out. of course i had read all the gossip about him being seriously ill...and i was really worried!!! i just couldn't believe it all went so quick! all the kids in school would laugh at me because i just couldn't hide my tears in the breaks... god...kids can be so pretty ferocious! |

I remember seeing Bo Rhap a lot as a little kid, you know, especially the "Let me go!" bit, which I found strange at the time. And seeing the Miracle kids was another thing. I also recall, around kindergarten, my town basketball team had won championships so they put on We Are The CHampions on a radio in the gym. Also, acorrding to my father, we used to have the Millionaire Waltz guitar solo on our answering machine, and apparenlty I loved that. I also remember I loved looking through my dad's albums as a kid.I'd always get to NOTW and I'd be like "Eek! Scary!" and shove it back on the shelf. I really got into Queen about two years ago when my dad bought GVH1 and put it on like all the time. I was sucked into a black hole from which I would never return. I didn't notice much about them then though. I remember when I first actually LOOKED at them, towards the end of fifth grade, I'm like "OMG!!! These guys are adoorable!!!" And that's where everything started. Including my monsterous crush on a certain guitarist. |

I don't remember it really at all but I apparently held on to a big speaker singing the words to Bo Rhap when I was 3. At age 18(maybe 17) my brother brought a .45 record of Bo Rhap, swearing I loved it as a child, and I looked at him like he was nuts. "Bohemian Rhapsody? Never heard of it. And what a stupid name... okay, okay, go ahead an play your song, whatever dude." I didn't pull up any visions, or feel like I knew it, except for the borderline psychotic, out of my mind, crazyness that this song that I still couldn't remember, was sounding new to me, and yet this one moment of my life I was saying I don't know this song at all, but then out of limbo singing every freaking lyric perfectly. I didn't recognize anything, except the lunatic fact that the words I still didn't feel familiar with, were coming right out of my mouth for no undderstandable reason. I borrowed that single and bought the headlong single(which I kinda liked) with Under Pressure on the back. This led to a cassette of News Of The World, on to the Innuendo cd, and then Hollywood records started re-releasing the Queen albums in groups of 4 every couple of months, until it was back on the shelves(except Live Magic which came evnentually, a few years after.) I went from testing one of the new sets of 4 at the start, to waiting impatiently for the last 4 which I saved up money for and bought all the day they came out. You asked, so there is my boring tale. Ultimately two early feelings of "WOW" about Queen I remember was after really hearing out In The Lap... Revisited, I remember thinking to myself how Bo Rhap was a monster hit, along with many others, and that none were any better than ITLOTFR, so if that's a lost gem, what else could their be? Another moment was all the shit I heard over and over about how bad and shitty Hot Space was. I dreaded hearing it because I didn't want to hear their big failure. When I finally did, I was like... "That's the bad one? It may be their worst, which would make all of the 10+ albums of theirs better, and maybe as many as 5 other albums I have ever heard in my life better. If that's their worst... HOLY SHIT!" |
