We all know that Brian may was an extraordinary guitarist and as a bass player i realise that john deacon was one of the best and most underrated rock bassists ever but what was rogers drumming like. For all the drummers out there is it difficult, inventive?

It's a very distinct sound, and original, most of the time. Check out the Classic Albums ANATO DVD, there's a bit about Rog's drumming there.
Roger had an amazing feel, which unfourtunately vanished with Hot space and following albums. One of the most recognisable & distinctive rock drummers ever.
Two things that make him great, IMO, one the tuning of his kit is like none other, deep and resonant but still responsive, very difficult to actieve.
Two, the way he plays adds to the song and never over shadows it, it is all too easy to play great solos in the wrong place just to show off, Roger always looks at the song first, simple is smart!
