Why did Freddie never do a tour for Mr Bad Guy? Or even play any Mr Bad Guy songs on a Queen tour? (well, it would have to be the Magic Tour, I suppose.) I mean, I know it never really took off, but neither did Hot Space, yet Queen did a tour to support that. And I know Mr Bad Guy is not a popular album here, but I find it impossible to flaw. So, anyone know why this never happened?
Yeah, fair enough, but that doesn't answer my question.

When it was released, they had the Works tour comming up fast already. That had priority. And they never played solo-songs on their concerts, not from Roger's two albums released up until the Magic Tour, and not from Freddie's album.
As Casper said. They were very busy at that time. They had the Works tour going on in 1984. Freddie started recording his solo album in 1983, if I'm not mistaken. He couldn't even finish off New York, because the Works tour was about to start. Pity, really. And 1985 was a very busy year of Queen. Rock in Rio, the Works tour in Australia/New Zealand/Japan, Live Aid and the recordings for a Kind Of Magic started after Live Aid.
And as Niek said. Mr Bad Guy was a commercial flop. And remember, it was a Queen tour. It would have been a nice suprise, if they added a solo song, but I think they made the right decision not to do so. Hope this helps.
It was released in 1985. Mr. Bad Guy was recorded with studio musicians. As far as I know, there was never any thought of touring. Roger and Brian did not attempt to, or even speak of, touring in support of their albums from the early '80's either.
Would it have made commercial sense for Freddie to tour as a solo act in 1985? I don't think so. If Mr. Bad Guy was a smash hit (like, say, a Phil Collins solo record from that era), Freddie might have had a different approach.
Wasn't Freddie busy enough?
I like Mr. Bad Guy very much. No, I'm not gay :-P. There are some nice songs on it, which makes me happy. Also the demos are very interesting. Freddie was very productive at that time. Too bad he couldn't finish off New York, such nice song.
I had to respond to "stateside fans" stupid remark, what does gay have to do with music?...those songs could easily be made by a straight man, and does every conversation about freddies songs have to be about "it sounds gay?" like the recent post "good old fashion loverboy" may I remind people who the icon of queen always was and always will be, I'v seen an article recently that said "queen were legends, but freddie was an Icon." Mr. bad guy did have flaws, but it had nothing to do with "it sounded gay" let me point out the album also has more than a few gems.
