Well, it's not the first time. 'Lose Yourself' won 3 years ago, and I have to say that song was indeed great.
However, I have to say that the Oscars have hit a LOW trying to follow the pop culture trend of sticking to what's hip and cool and not what is substantial, smart and everlasting. When I saw the performance I thought I was watching the MTV Awards, and not the Oscars.
Hopefully this time there won't be any shootings backstage.

Joaquin Phoenix and Phillip Seymor Hoffman deserved the Oscar for best actor more, but I think Michelle Williams deserved it for 'Best Supporting Actress'.

Brokeback, as a movie, pales in comparison to the winner, Crash. I have been on the Crash bandwagon since I first saw it months and months ago. Probably the best movie that I have ever seen.
I was kinda disappointed BBM didn't win Best Picture. Mind you, I haven't had a chance to see any other nominees, I don't think they've all been released over here. (or maybe I missed them.)
It's not like there was much out there for best song. The winner is in context to the film it was in and holds up in that context. I'll never buy it but I think it was as deserving as any other song.

I can't believe out of all rappers, it had to be them....what an embarrasment. They're trying to make people look bad.
