That's thirteen of us, plus whoever we're bringing. Any ideas of where we could go? Bar? Restaurant? It's less than three weeks, so now's a good time to plan if we all want to meet up. Just post if you're interested, and then we'll look up a few places close to the Air Canada Centre.
I think a bar is sorta out of the question for me, Me and my buddy are driving down probably, the problem is we're both under 19, and I look like I'm 14 (I'm actually 17), so even going into a bar is out I think.
Sounds good to me. I am bringing my son who's 16 so I am not sure about a bar either. I am open to suggestions tho. We will likely drive to Yorkdale and Subway from there....
Alright, so a bar is out! Any suggestions from you folks from Toronto? I'm from Hamilton, and I don't know downtown Toronto all that well. But if we need to research restaurants and whatnot, then that's alright with me.
I'd like to have things planned before March 3rd, because I plan to avoid the forums after that date. I don't want any setlist surprises to be ruined. I'm sure many of you will agree!
Hi there-
if you're interested, i've been suggesting to the QOL folks a meet-up at the HORSESHOE TAVERN
(corner of Queen Street and Spadina) link
I have a friend who lives in Toronto this year... she told me the Horseshoe was a really cool pub.
apparently there's not much going on right next to the Air Canada Center, so there's a little bit of a walk (approx. 2.5 kms) to go to Queen Street, where all the fun is...
so if you guys don't mind mixing up with the QOL crowd, i think we could ahve a real nice time. let me know...
sorry, i hadn't read the whole topic... are you sure you cannot get in a bar in Canada if you're underage? (the rules might be different from the US :/)

You have to be 19.
So, if we want to accomodate those who are under 19, a bar is out.
There are many restaurants (w/bar) within a 10 minute walk of the ACC that will accommodate all ages. Harbour Sports Grille would be the closest (about 5 min). link
Actually the harbour sports grille looks pretty good. I'll see if maybe I can swing that, also depends if my friend wants to go. I'm gonna see him at school tomorrow so I'll see what he says.
Awesome! I'm really looking forward to seeing you all!
So, unless there are more suggestions, can we all agree on the Harbour Sports Grille, at 10 Yonge St. ?
What would be a good time? 5pm, if the show starts at 8? I'm sure we all want to get into the ACC by about 7 or so.
Could a few more people post to confirm they'll be coming to the Harbour Sports Grille? I'd like to know it won't be two or three people there.
Also, could this be done in the next day or so? I won't be coming to the forum from tomorrow evening onward, to avoid reading any setlists posted.
I'll see - mark me down as a 'maybe' with possibly 2 others :)
I also won't be checking any Queen sites after tomorrow - want to be surprised :)
...for what it's woth.
Andrew
Nope... just Toronto and Buffalo. (Email me!)
Right now it seems there are very few people posting for sure for the pre-show thing. I'm checking back early evening, and if there aren't a few more posts, then I'd say we call the pre-show off.
I'm suggesting this as an alternative for those not meeting up with the others.
I've suggested this on QOL and can assure you there will be plenty of Queen fans around.
I'm suggesting that anyone from out of town (Toronto) might want to meet up at a place called Jack Astors. It is located at the intersection of University and Front Streets. This is a commom meeting place for people going to events at the Air Canada Center. They serve alcohol and food so you can enter if you are not yet legal drinking age.
To get there walk north on York St. from the ACC to Front St.
Turn left and walk west to University St.
You'll see it on the corner.
It is a very short walk to the ACC.
I won't be available for a pre show meet but I'm always up for a post show meet. I hope any visitors to Toronto have a good time.
If you just want to meet up I would suggest to go to BCE building,it's really close to the ACC.Meet downstairs by the Hockey hall of fame. There's a food court and there's a couple of places you can get a beer with out being in a bar.Ithink that's you're best bet.
