Dear guys, this is a pretty much rare serie of songs, although it has seen many times the light of day (most of them in poor quality)
This is a set of 3 songs recorded by Michael Jackson & Freddie in 1983. They were recorded at the Jacksons Studios at Michael's home in Encino, California.
3 tracks were recorded in just two session in a serie of 3 days of 1 week the two spent together and a second serie of 2 days they spent together with the rest of the band Queen.
- State of Shock (M. Jackson)
- There must be more to life than this (F. Mercury)
- Victory (M. Jackson & F. Mercury)
Songs in both session were recorded on 10inch tapes! The demo of Michael with Freddie at the piano giving directions to Mike has been recorded on a very normal audiotape cassette in Michael's living room!
THAT PIANO SAW THE CREATION OF THERE MUST BE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS, BILLIE JEAN!
The 3 tracks were supposed to be released 1 in Freddie's albu, 1 in Michael's album and the other would appear in an EP that would contain the 3 of them.
Unfortunately they never saw the light of day. In 1983 Jacksons had split out since a long time, but the record company wanted them together for a very last reunion. Michael was in lack of time because due to the sucess of Thriller the company wanted the Jacksons on tour soon and Freddie was splitting himself between his own recordings and the rehearsals of the following Queen Tour, so MJ asked to Freddie if he could release the song State of Shock and Freddie answered it was fine UNLESS they wouldremain freidns and still do good music together. The fact was that freddie was unable to join mj for a final session.
Freddie did the same with there must be more to life than this BECAUSE this time MJ was on tour...
Result was that only VICTORY remained unreleased. roblem for taht song was that bough owned credit. Michael wanted to publish it and Freddie agreed, in fact the Jackson's album containing State of Shock is called VICTORY and the tour of the Jacksons in 1983 was Victory Tour. But if you look at the album the title track does not appear. Reason is that record companies still hoped that would be released as a duet.... things UNFORTUNATELY, VERY UNFORTUNATELY FAILED! link
Obviously, the tracks shared here are the same tracks already shared.
There is no "Victory" but there is a fan-mix of the MJ demo and the FM track of "There Must Be More To Life Than This".
The real reason that state of shock wasn't released with Freddie but with Mick Jagger, is that Michael hated drugs in the 80's and he caught Freddie using cocaine when they were together recording the thing...
Dear radio_what's_new, I am very SORRY FOR YOU.... BUT I AM A VERY BIG MJ FAN & COLLECTOR, NO THIS IS NOT THE REAL REASON!!! REAL REASON IS WHAT I TOLD YOU!!!!!...sorry....

That doesn't make you an expert...Remember that it's not always the real truth you read in all the biographies and stuff but it is in fact often the truth how the record companies want to bring it...FACT is that Freddie and Michael grew apart from each other. Freddie mentioned this in several interviews...
It is a FACT that freddie got caught snorring coke at MJ's place. It is record company bullshit talk what you have red about it.
And how on earth can you be a big MJ fan??? The man sucks.
Also the FACT that you are announcing the tracks as real while obviuosly only one of them is does show that you don't know what you are talking about....

LOL! You're right there ;-)
But it is (also) true though that State of Shock was never finished because Freddie and Michael were both too busy to settle on a final session.
After that... they obviously did drift apart indeed, because if they REALY wanted to finfish this, they could have found SOME time SOMEwhere...
