I'm not sure that was even true.
I think it's just a rumour.
I think Queen were much too professional to let their back stage quarrels appear on stage.
So yeah... if it is true I'd like to know too!
RT & BM had a major argument before a concert one night...Europe 1984 I think. Freddie apparently resolved it.
I've never heard of any onstage argument - where did you hear this?
He's done it several times. Saarbrucken in 79 and I think it's seen at the end of the Rainbow gig. He's famous for his temper. Brian too. HIs poor John Birch didn't survive a "stage dive" nor did Johns' bass at the end of the Knebworth show. Can anyone add to the list?
I don't think Brian had a temper at all. As far as I can ascertain from what Brian has said, the "destruction" of his John Birch copy may have been because it was slightly faulty at that particular moment, and he went to throw it to his roadie, but he wasn't able to catch it. Or something.
Either way, Brian seems like the type of person who wouldn't outright explode, but would rather let something brood, causing him to mope and become sullen. John seems fairly happy-go-lucky, and the hurling of his bass was definitely out of character.
Freddie and Roger, on the other hand...
Brian threw the Birch copy after first his Old Lady broke a string during a solo, he then replaced it with the Birch which also broke a string, he threw it off stage to a roadie, but sadly the guy didn't catch it and the neck broke.
There was a story of a USA concert in the late 70's where Fred kicked the kit, and Roger then knocked it back and Fred, the story goes that a fight started and Fred run off stage with John.
I had it as a news clipping once, however I never believed it and I am confident the paper was making it up, as the whole review was just an excuse to slag them off, which was pretty much the norm in those days.
