I was just curious if anyone wanted to give it a whirl...I would love to myself, but I lack the equipment, let alone the expierience to do so. But again, just throwing the idea out there.
As a song yes I think interesting things could be done, but you must understand - the average joe who does remixes has access to three things:
The original version of Hitman.
A fuzzy sounding snippet of Brian's version (with him singing instead).
The Eye version (don't remember what's different about that).
I'm not sure what can be done with such materials.
If they do a DVD-A of Innuendo (this is the album I'd like to hear DVD'd the most) then perhaps something interesting can be divined out of the DTS tracks. Let's hope.
That's true, and you have a point. I was just thinking certain things could be tinkered with after hearing things like 'Headlong' remix and things like that. But if it can't be done, it can't be done!! No biggie...however, hats off to all of you who HAVE done fanmixes...I've got to admit I've tried to stay away from them in the past, but after downloading a bunch of them today, alot of you are really great and hear things in some of those songs I would NEVER have heard!! Great job, keep up the awesome work!!
Indeed, these guys work wonders.
I've only ever done one 'remix' here myself - and it wasn't a remix per se, it was more or less assembling various versions of I Want It All into one big 5:30 version. I quite like it, I listen to it all the time now :D
Zeb is correct in saying that there's not much source material to work on, with The Hitman. I would have loved this to be a better mix in the first place - it's the one real heavy rocker on Innuendo, and it sounds like they recorded it from the bottom of the garden! Let's hope the DVD-A mix, if it ever appears, is better.
hmmm, i think i could make something barely listernable.. in my head i can picture a few tricks..
like towards the end when its the drums beofre the "hitmannnnnnnnn" part extending that, add a faint crowd roar with freddie giving a few whoas from the princes of the universe surround channel bit that was on here.
in my head its there, reality may prove yet again to not be the case... ill try it out. and post it here
Go Darcy!! That's the spirit!! But if you can't, at least you can say you tried. I remember listening to Hammer to Fall-Fickle's Mix, and I thought it was brilliant, as is all of his work. By the way, kudos to you Darcy for that fucking AWESOME remix of Headlong. I played it for my friend, and played him the original back to back, and I hate to say it, but we both liked your mix better than the original!! More creative, innovative...ok, I'm rambling lol. Point is, I give you all MAD props on the work!! I bow down to you remix masters lmao!! Take care guys and gals!!

The eYe version of it is actually split into two parts, both instrumental (except for some backing vocals).
Part 1: Normal intro, continues to where the line "I'm a fool for your love" comes in, then fades out.
Part 2: Cool effect leads into part after "you gonna make my day, gonna blow you away", and goes until end of song.
I have the songs from The eYe, so i believe the instrumentals can be used for a remix. Anything is possible with music!
made something. its not too bad. there is truely nothing much to work with, the sounds are all mixed in there tightly,
but.i added a little peaceful intro, tried that middle extension which works ok.. not bad for 2 am i think..
ill post it later when im at work (dial up and uploading takes too long)
