I Wanna Testify/Turn On The TV, was actually recorded during the 'News Of The World Sessions'.
I Wanna Testify
Released 26th August 1977
For Roger Taylor’s first solo recording, I Wanna Testify (a variation of the 1960’s Parliaments single), recorded during the Queen ‘News Of The World’ sessions, Roger himself paid for all the recording, production, pressing, distribution and publicity costs, as recording company EMI were not prepared to support any financial involvement.
Contemporary reports estimated total costs at circa £40,000 (the equivalent of 100,000 sales), actual sales calculated circa 5,000.

I have this single in a box somewhere, but haven't played it for years. Can someone remind me, did the rest of the band play on either of these tracks?

No - just Roger Taylor solo. Sorry.
Meaning, Roger played all the instruments? Or did he wheel in some session musicians? Sorry to probe, but this has got my interest now. I will have to dig out the single.

Not that much, apparently. There's one going on eBay for £7.50 at the moment, but I would have thought it would be worth a bit more than that. :)
This is what the internet has done. Once this single was valued as high as £70. Now it cannot fetch half that price.
That is because once upon a time - you needed the physical single to play the track, and this kept the music rare.
Now that MP3's have made the song so freely and commonly available, nobody is willing to pay the price for the plastic original anymore, as they are happy with their PC/iPod copies.
I'm personally glad that stuff has devalued and you can actually get things for an affordable price now. The music should be available to everyone, not just those who have hundreds of pounds to throw away. I got Blue Rock off Ebay.co.uk for £30 recently, if the price of collectables hadn't gone down it might have been a lot higher...
I can see how sellers would be annoyed they can't sell stuff for such high prices anymore, but from everyone else's point of view it's great.
