Hello members of Queenzone, I'd like to ask for the help of those of you who live in London or know the city very well.
The italian community link, of which I'm webmaster, organized a fan meeting there in April, from 21st to 25th!
We'd need some advices about places to go, especially at night: we'd for sure go to dance!!
We considered the HEAVEN for obvious reasons but the homepage of the site made me change opinion about the project... ehm....
Can somebody suggest me some clubs? We like rock music of course and we'd prefer some easy-to-reach places... no dangerous clubs uh!! :)
Thanks in advance, cheeeeeeeeers!!

Hi Luca it's Tony - hope your well ? Don't know if it's still there , but in covent garden there is / was a club called Roadhouse , plays / played Rock . Electric Ballroom in Camden can be good to - depends what band is playing . Are you just doing London or are you coming my way too ? ( south coast ).
Thanks for your replies!
- do they usually play in hyde park? is there a site where I can check events @ hyde park?
- Hey Tony, great to hear again from you! I browsed the clubs you suggested, the one in Covent Garden looks interesting while I'm a little worried about going to Camden at night... is it dangerous to travel around London with the tube by night? What would be the best (and most safe)way to reach places at night?
We just organized the staying in London, especially because some guys have never been there and they want to enjoy the city as more as possible! How far are you from the greater London anyway? Would be great to shake your hand and have a beer together ;)

IS but i think unfortunatelly PLAYED-last time I went there they played crap...
I found a great pub in soho- FOX, with a gargoyle above the door- Wardour Street, not far from China Town. Great rock / hard rock / metal music- and a nice, VEERY nice crowd, very colourfull, very loud :) Often there recently.
Unfortunately English people listen to crap music nowadays so there aren't taht many good (or any actually) rock places, rock clubs... Pity... But what do you expect in the country that thinks Robbie Williams is the best (or almost the best) entertainer ever...?

London, one of the biggest metropolis in the world- and the tube... DOESN'T WORK AT NIGHT, my friend. As ridiculous as it sounds, that's the reality. Either black cab (don't take mini cabs, they are useless) or a night bus... And it's not easy at night to get from point A to point B...
I was never even once assaulted or attacked, but I can't say it's very safe. As long as you avoid places like Peckham, Brixton, New Cross or Camberwell (where I live) at night you should be fine. :)
Hi Luca -I'm 100 miles south of london , in Bournemouth ( I went to uni in Greenwich ) What Fenderick said is right , so avoid those places in the dark ! If you want to get around ( Reasonably ) cheaply in the daytime in London , you can buy something called a travelcard - (not sure how much they are now , but no where near as expensive as a cab )a travelcard means you can hop on as many buses , tubes and trains in london as you want . For whats on listings you could try the evening standard website link also try time out magazines website . Hope that helps , Tony .

"Heaven" is a gaycentrum or gaybar.
So I can advice you not to go there. Go and sit before Garden Lodge like hippie's. Or ask Mary Austin to come in :P

Now they went up quite a lot... They have this OYSTER thing now... which doesn't work on trains- so you have to buy another ticket anyway... bloody hell... There's definitely no point in getting OYSTER for few days, 7-Day Bus Pass is about 13 pounds nowadays... Travelcard- no idea...
You've got pick and choose when you go to Roundhouse in Cov Garden as the quality of music varies and can't be guaranteed .
Fenderek, when are you next going to the (snooty) fox? I'll nip in and buy you a beer - or two.
Neil
I'd recommened seeing a few gigs. Hyde Park is a no no in April - they'll be nothing on.
Check out listings for Astoria, Shepherds Bush, Scala, Brixton etc. If there is a band you like you are sure of good music.
I like Islington to go out. I tend not to go very often though.
If you like indie music then Koko in camden is jolly good.

Actually- I'm going to be there this Saturday about 6(ish)- upstairs if it's not closed or if they don't play KISS-like music (hate pudel metal hard rock)
I'll be wearing a... DREAM THEATER T-shirt :)
Nip in- and I may buy you a beer too :)
