i'd like to know if there's a mixer capable to post a fragment of 'another one bites the dust' in REVERSE to see if it's really resulting in "I want to smoke marijuana". I'm really curious to see if that polemic is true or not. Many thanks!!
It has already been done.
To save you time, try this link: link
But my own personal favourite is 'Jingle Bells' backwards. (Allow a moment or two to download)
Please listen very carefully: link

This is a complete myth and not true. It does not sound really like that. However, part of WWRY backwards does sound like "Bring us here to put on ash". And, of course, we all know about the "Paul is dead" thing.

I tried it once on Audicity to see if it was true.
It wasn't.

Don't so that man, it's bad for you!
:-P
By the way, I did take Another One Bites The Dust off of the Greatest Hits album used my good aging pal Goldwave, reversed the audio and played the chorus. It does indeed sound like ...that. It is stretching it though. Heh, I could indeed see Queen in the studio laughing about that if they actually did backmask it as a joke. Ahhhhhh, Rock & Roll, gotta love it...
Roger's "Coming Soon", from the same album, seems to contain nonsense lyrics. "Mother-in-law in her nylon tights-a" etc. Plus, it's a very "produced" song, with a tight beat and a layered vocal. Once in high school, many years ago, I was surprised to find that, backwards, the vocal says, quite clearly, "Who's here? Who's here? Oh, yes, I love you, Shiva."
My 17 y/o brain heard "satan" and freaked out! It's still odd, doncha think?
