on 23rd November i went to see the Queen Tribute Band "Ga Ga" at the floral pavillion and they were excellent, a lot better than the other one i saw last year. There were only 3 guys and didn't use exactly the same instruments, they didn't dress up as them but they sounded a lot like them and were talented.
In my opinion they are the best Queen tribute band out there!
Yes I saw them last year. They did a corking version of Breakthru which at least partly compensated for Queen never performing it live. The singer is a great guitar player, a skill he bluesily exhibits on CLTCL, which was another highlight.
Can you be in a tribute to 4 guys with only 3? I thought they kind of had to appear the same. Maybe the lead singer looks like a cross between Freddie and Brian? That'd be interesting, and perhaps one of the most hideous sights ever seen on Earth.
None of them look like Queen. Its just a group of people playing Queen music. They put their own twist on it too which is nice, they just don't pelt out a Wembley '86 set.
The first time I saw them was the best, the energy was great and they did an amazing version of Another Bites The Dust with a massive guitar solo in the middle. Brilliant.
