Attack on Brian
| teleman 01.12.2005 18:35 |
There is a person posting on QZ who has taken their vendetta against Brian to other non-forum sites link as well as amazon.com in their review of ROTC The wikipedia article is particularly vicious toward Brian. Free speach is fine but there is a problem with personal attacks by nameless trolls on sites which are supposed to be informational - wikipedia |

To Teleman, Although I did write a bad review of ROTC on link a while back, I did not write the Wikipedia article. Like I said, someone else wrote that as well as the Brian May article. If anyone has any problems with the Wikipedia article, I suggest that you write your ideas on the "discussion" page that I set up. |

Just to be clear I don't care if somebody likes or is a fan of Brian(or any other member of Queen) but I do care if somebody is doing a smear campaign spreading malicious untruths and making baseless accusations. If you think Brian is a shit guitarist and Queen would have been better with Slash or Jimmy Page I won't agree but I'll respect your opinion. If you viciously attack Brian's character then I wonder what psychological problems you might be having. |

To Teleman, In no way am I viciously attacking Brian's character. All I am doing is noting certain basic things such as: a) the fact that he used The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert to promote himself (anyone who does not agree with this point of view should go to the Wikipedia discussion page), b) the fact that his webpage and interviews come across as very narcissistic in nature (I explained why in my posts) and c) the fact that he was not there to support Freddie during his last video because he found it more important to be off promoting his solo album, which was destined to fail anyway. |

bitch4freddie wrote: The fact that he was not there to support Freddie during his last video because he found it more important to be off promoting his solo album, which was destined to fail anyway.Dude, please explain me - how Brian could promote his solo album in May of 1991 when his solo album was released in June of 1992?! Or he promoted Star Fleet? He promoted Queen's Innuendo, because they've got new releasing label there and because Queen couldn't play there live. He did this job instead of Freddie actually! And how he could support Freddie? "Hey, Fred, we're gonna make a new video and you know - it'll be your last ever video, isn't it funny, mate? I'll be there with you, don't worry!" |

The Wikipedia article fails to mention that the Freddie Mercury Tribute doubled as an awareness concert for HIV/AIDS. Brian and Roger announced upfront that they were opting for the big names as well as people directly connected to Freddie. The songs played IMHO accurately mirror the setlist as it would have looked if Freddie were still touring, Brian tends to write rockers that lend themselves very well to stadium rock. The article in Wikipedia in its present form reflects a point of view, and not the objective truth (nor will it ever, because nobody knows). |

Okay, I agree with its_a_hard_life and the rest of you on this one. Who the f**k would say such mean things about Brian May?!? Honestly. |

I agree that the person who insults a rich famous successful man is jealous and wants it all. |

I think Brian is a good guy. |

This guys attack on Brian has most likely hurt Brian almost half as much as a mosquito bite he obtained that was so viscious, that he actually took 1.6 seconds to scratch the itchy sensation. I know nothing of Brian personally, but I would imagine that he puts as much concern about the critics who bash him as he does a single blade of grass that might obstruct his path. |

Hany wrote: I agree that the person who insults a rich famous successful man is jealous and wants it all.Well, so what is the difference between Brian, Roger and John? They're all rich and famous... No, it was attack to Brian, not to his money and fame, I think... |
