yesterday someone asked me (because they knew i like Queen) if i had heard the song "Bohemian Rhapsod". I can't decide wheather to find this funny or disturbing...
what do u think?...
It's a logical question. Friends of mine ask me if I've ever heard of *big hit* by *certain band* and I can't say I have. Or if I've ever seen *popular TV show that everyone watches*.

:o)
Do you live in America, England or elsewhere?
If Your American then it's understandable since Queen are not that well known there and sorry to ofend you but many Americans are pretty ignorant of other cultures (and others cultures music).
If your british then that's fucking unbelievable!

You know, you're right. I have people who ask me if I've heard We Will Rock You. Pardon my language but NO FUCKING SHIT!
People also expect me to shit a brick because they know one or two songs on Greatest Hits. A girl who's obsessed with one of my best friends, John, came over and watched Queen On Fire Live At The Bowl with us and my girlfriend at the time. She pisses the hell out of John, climaxing with "Who's Freddie Mercury?" He utters "What an ignorant Bitch" under his breath and I later told her why. She learned the line "We Will Rock You" and expected him to fall in love with her. John told her she was "Death On Two Legs" and she asked what that meant.
You're right, us Americans are ignorant Fuckers!

i agree, i'm American and i hate the way we look at other people's cultures and music and stuff. The music we have sucks. Think of all of the greatest bands in the world. Most of them didn't come from the United States.
Queen came from the UK. So did Rolling Stones, Beatles, The Clash, Sex Pistols, and such. Rush came from Canada, INXS came from Australia, and so on, and so on.
We are VERY ignorant when it comes to music. We would rather buy millions of Ashlee Simpson's new album (which i think is STILL #1 on the charts) than pick up Queen's Greatest Hits (which was on the UK charts for, how long? I think over 5 years!!!)
It sickens me.

You can't judge someone on how much they know about music, or in particular, Queen. It depends on what music you have been brought up on. Two years ago, I didn't know a band called Queen existed, and although I recognised the name Freddie Mercury, I didn't know who he was. This wasn't because I listened to only modern music (quite the opposite), but because I very rarely watched TV, and only knew about a couple of singers and bands. I wouldn't have expected to be called an ignorant bitch either. Music may be a big part of my life now, but it has not always been, and I know this is the same with other people.

To Dust Biter-
If you knew her, you would agree but the message is that people expect us to be so surprised that they know a song on the Greatest Hits. It is just pathetic.
Another ingnorance example---
Dumbass:I've never heard Queen before.
Ben: Have you heard "We Will Rock You"
Dumbass: Yes
Ben: What about "We Are The Champions"?
Dumbass: Yeah! They played that at our football game!
Ben: Possibly "Another One Bites The Dust"
Dumbass: Yeah, I used to dance to that.
Ben: Are you aware that those are all by Queen?
Anyone else get this?
Since BohRap, We Will Rock You, We are the Champs and Bites The Dust are the most famous over here in America, it is just pathetic.
Wow, we seem more ignorant by the second!
