I really, really, really want to hear some of him because my friends all tell me that I would love him (and they know my taste!) I really want to hear him.

I second.
What an educated comment. Seems like you've both really listened to him and not followed the crowd and said you hate him. I respect that in people.
I quite like Mr Manson. Nowadays he's a little "same old, same old", but then again rumour has it he's fed up with music anyway. I'm not a fan of some of his stuff, musically it can be a little simple (and in a kinda pathetic way). BUT, The Nobodies, Death Song, Sweet Dreams etc are all class. And his acoustic stuff, other than The Nobodies version, The Last Day On Earth especially, and some of the stuff off of Holy Wood is brilliant. But, possibly my two favourite Manson songs are Great Big White World and Fundamentally Loathesome. Queenleaf, I would recommend you (ahem) download them.
Also Queenleaf, Golden Age Of Grotesque ROCKS !! (It's my favourite haha).
Yeah I heard that he's fed up of the music biz as well.. I think I read it in Kerrang! magazine.. Says he's going to concentrate more on films and art but he isn't going to totally quit music.. BTW I'm glad you said that about Holy Wood cuz I'm getting that for my b-day :p
I think the only version of Holy Wood available in the UK has The Nobodies acoustic, but if it doesnt, let me know, and I'll... help you acquire it.
Holy Wood is a very good album. It's quite mature, and has some great acoustic-orientated songs towards the end. And there's a couple of songs (as I said before, namely The Nobodies, The Death Song etc) that are class.

It wasn't supposed to be educated. If you can find a reason for me to like him, go ahead. If not, I stand my ground.

Sweet Dreams, Tainted Love and Personal Jesus are the covers he has released. Tainted Love was for a soundtrack more-so than an album, but was released becuase it is very good, and Sweet Dreams is class. But Personal Jesus was released more as a promotion for his Greatest Hits album. Two of them were hits, one of them wasn't.
Now, off the top of my head... Mobscene, Disposable Teens, The Nobodies, Beautiful People, The Fight Song were all "hits" too. Not bad for someone whose hits are "mostly covers/remakes".
I just get the impression that a few around here are saying he is shit without actually listening or because he is percieved as weird etc. I much prefer an honest answer rather than "he is shit becuase I say so".
