At work today I had a cassette of 'The Miracle' album and Breakthru was on and some lady came in and started dissing it saying it sounds "too 80s!".. she thought it was new music, and was the type who doesn't listen to anything older than a year old. She was mouthy too and I said "It's Queen" and she's like "well there you go" in a rude way. What a wench she was!

Breakthrough is one of my absolute favorites.

but you gotta admit - it is VERY 80s
- that was THE WHOLE point of that decade!- lots of usually - non-conformist artists found themselves having to adapt to the 80s formula in order to sell records
Springsteen, Queen, Dire Straits, The Who - all of their 'more traditional' sound changed dramatically during the 80s - so much so that the singles were a huge step away from their 70s sound
don't agree? - take some of their biggest hits of the 80s and put em alongside their 70s stuff.

Brenski, I actually like most of the songs you mentioned! LOL!
I'm not one of those who thinks a song has to be complex or difficult to memorize just to be a good song.
On Queen specifically, I generally like their 80s music more than the 70s albums. I also like Freddie's 80s voice better.

Of course it sounds very 80s cos it was recorded then. What a thick woman!
Breakthru is a song that gets me pretty amped and energetic. The next time she disses Queen, just say (insert her favourite group) was influenced by Queen (just play the six degrees of seperation game, the band, through some other band, is bound to be influenced by them somehow!).

BURN IN HELL YOU SCOUNDREL!!!
that was, btw, directed at the very rude person who said that
well i guess we hope she doesn't try to join Queenzone...lol she would probably be more hated than BPP :P ;)
it's just one woman's opinion, and the song is very '80s...
but it was also a brilliant song
about that girl- Shit happens
owww about dire strait- they are great band, they have great song ,great performance
but
Queen still my favourite and they are the best
*if u dont like some bands its doesnt mean they are not good
True, the tune is rather 80s-ish, but what's wrong with that?
It's synth-driven pop-rock, the sorta tune that makes you feel good in the morning while you're waiting for the bus.
As for the Who, they did sorta tweak their sound in the 80s, but that's b/c Moon kicked it in 1979. I personally think It's Had, their 1982 release, is highly underrated. One At A Time and Eminence Front are damn good tunes.
Yes, I know and I didn't understand what you meant - I've said that Dire Straits were formed in the end of 70s and this is automatically means that I hate them or what?
