You Don't Fool Me
| deleted user 30.09.2005 16:18 |
When was this great song recorded cos it dosen't sound like 'Hot Space' era. It sounds more 'Miracle' and 'Innuendo'. |
| Serry... 30.09.2005 16:23 |
It was recorded in 1990/91. But it COULD be written in the Hot Space era. |

Well when I've mentioned before everyone said it was in the Hot Space era. |

All Queens People wrote: Well when I've mentioned before everyone said it was in the Hot Space era.Written, read closer, no one with half a brain would say the actual vocals or arrangement were hot space era. I love the song because it also gives you an insight on how they would've done some of the Hot Space songs differently. Like during the "Mama said be careful of that girl, Mama said that girl she be no good" I could her Freddie originally doing that in his "jive voice" (like at the end of Back Chat when it's fading out). Just thought I'd add that and that Hot Space would've probably sounded cooler if every song was recorded in a different era (minus the synths, drum machine, bass synths) can you imagine Staying power in the studio was real drums and a real bass? It might've been on Another one bites the dusts level. Maybe the same with Body Language. That'll be a cool thing I'm sure Queen will never do: Take the Hot Space vocal tracks and update the arrangements (i.e. record new music) |

i think you dont fool me is a great funky pop song, when i first heard it i thought it sounded very young/fresh i.e. imo i'd expect from a young band, i think it shows how young minded and fun orientated queen were(with freddie). checkout george michael's "the strangest thing 97" imo it sounds heavly influenced by queens you dont fool me, or i could be wrong and it could be just coincidence lol good song tho:) |

Didn't Brian May himself - on Brianmay.com say that the song was: "...recorded in 1991 in Montreaux." That to me seems quite definitive. Didn't Fenderek list where all the original "Made In Heaven" tracks came from? |
| Winter Land Man 30.09.2005 23:36 |
Hard to believe that the song became a college hit in the UK and US, for a dance track, when it was one of Freddie's last songs! |

(With thanks to Fenderek - and the QZ Search facility!) /queenzone/556364.html It's A Beautiful Day- THE GAME session (1979/80) Made in Heaven- Mr. Bad Guy (1985) Let Me Live (well... 1981? 1983?) Mother Love- Montreaux'91 session... My Life Has Been Saved- "Scandal" B-side (1988) I Was Born To Love You- Mr. Bad Guy (1985) Heaven For Everyone (1986 started, the vocals taken from Cross recording) Too Much Love Will Kill You- MIRACLE sessions (1988) You Don't Fool Me- Montreaux'91 session... A Winter's Tale- Montreaux'91 session... |

It's possible, but recorded in 1991. "White Queen" was written by Brian in the end of 60s, but recorded and released in the end of 1974, so nothing strange... |

There seems to be some misunderstanding in here: GHIII says that YDFM "resembles" the Hot Space era, not that it was written in that time, let alone recorded. Similarly Seaside Rendezvous resembles 20s classics but it wasn't composed in the 20s; or Need Your Loving and early 60s etc. |
| Serry... 01.10.2005 07:39 |
Another one source where YDFM states as Hot Space's baby: link |

Excellent song, but I thought they could have done a little better with the recording of it. |

It has the Hot Space feel but was recorded later than that...I think it fits well on Made In Heaven, though. It's got a great, kind of somber tone to it and that guitar solo is one of the best! :) |

Not QUEEN + PAUL RODGERS. We know you all love Q+PR but please shut up about them!! They didn't write that track. ...jeez..some people. You don't fool me...what a great song!! |

I believe in the sleeve notes of GHIII, it states that YDFM was recorded in the Hot Space Recording Sessions. Take care and have a wondeful day!!! |

lozitopj wrote: I believe in the sleeve notes of GHIII, it states that YDFM was recorded in the Hot Space Recording Sessions. Take care and have a wondeful day!!!Stay off the crack. I hate to get in to flaming but if you think it was recorded during hot space you're a retard. It's that simple. I'm not saying you're lying but your reading comprehension skills may need some brushing up because recoreded and conceived means two different things. Well I change my mind, you are lying because I bought GH 3 when it first came out, even pre ordered it and it didnt say anything like that. |
