Hi all, new member here.
I've got what is possibly a strange request, but I can only guess that this is the right kind of place to request it. It's not strictly a request for music, but for pictures, video or anything.
I'm sure that many of you remember the 1989 version of "Who Wants To Live Forever" by 2" Ian & Belinda. Well, I'm a friend of Belinda's and I'd like to get together a sort of package of anything related to that single. I know she's got a copy of the single still, but I think that that's about it.
A few months ago I found a headshot of her in the studio, looking very funny with big headphones on and a hairdo that she'd no doubt cringe to see today, but I think the site that had that on is now down, as I can't find it again. It's that kind of thing that I'm after (in the unlikely event that anyone has such a thing), but really anything and everything connected to that single would be lovely.
So, if anybody can help me out, I'd really appreciate it and I think it'd be a nice surprise for her. I'm not quite sure of the protocol on this site for posting things, but if I'm right you have to put any stuff in a different forum. Could you also put a reply in this thread to tell me you've done so, please? It'd make life much easier for me. My e-mail address is trollface@care2.com too, if that helps.
Oh, and if anyone's interested, she's still singing. She's a folky acoustic singer/songwriter and has a simply amazing voice. She's a good writer, too. She's a talented lass.
Thanks to all in advance.
Thanks, but I'd already found all of those links. I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping for stuff that's not easy to find online.
Oh well, thanks for that anyway.
Pictures from the video, the video itself, pictures from the recording session, appearences on Top Of The Pops or Going Live (actually I'm not sure they were ever on Top Of The Pops, but they might have been on Blue Peter)...that kind of thing. I know it's incredibly unlikely, but if you don't ask you don't get and I figure it's better to ask and not find anything than to not try at all.
I gave links to pictures from video.
Video is available on GVH2 (it's an official release), so it can't be shared here.
Video from recording session - it's in promo video.
About the rest... I hope someone will help you :)
The track was recorded in Olympic studios in June 1989. Single raised 130 000 pounds for BBMDA.
Brian and Malcolm Thomas on BBC's Daytime Live asked for children to come forward to be auditioned to record the number, asking them to send in a tape of themselves singing. They've got about 10 000 of tapes. Auditions of kids were in Abbey Road studios.
Yeah, you did give links to pics from the video, but they don't actually feature her so they're not much use to me. And I appreciate that the video is an official release and so can't be shared here, but I didn't know if there was maybe a Queen site that had it for legal download.
But thanks for your help anyway, I do appreciate it.
