Bwahaha - I'm wondering...
I'd like to isolate some vocals, as I understand it there's no way to do this and wind up with anything that sounds terribly good.
My question is : can a karaoke track, lined up against a normal track, be used to somehow extract the vocal from the normal track? In video they call it a difference key.
Just wonderin'. :D
I've tried something similar with Heaven For Everyone. I took the eYe instrumental and combined the album track together. It didn't work that well, but I've heard that it does work. It certainly worked for the latter part of the track. But it was only for a few seconds.
Peace,
Adam.
I don't quite understand how combining an instrumental version of a track, with a vocal version, could result in isolating the vocals. Or have I misunderstood?
The point of using this technique is the difference between what an instrumental contains and what the original track contains.
The instrumental contains everything but the vocal, whereas the original track does contain the vocal. And playing them together side by side should cancel out all but the vocals. It's to do with phase.
Though, as demonstrated on my experiences with Heaven For Everyone, it doesn't always work.
Peace,
Adam.
