Why do so many of you seem to think that the Houston show or those from the Magic tour are Queen's best? Most of you have been to better shows then Houston '77 and although technically superior the magic tour was far from the best Queen had to offer. The best?Easily the Jazz/Live Killers tour both visual and sound wise.Freddie looked his best then and also sang as if he still had something to prove .Yes there were off nights that we all have seen but that can be attributed to him singing his ass off in previous nights. How about Munich '79 or Frankfurt in the same year as the next official release?Thoughts?
It breaks down like this for me.
Queen, like any awesome band...had on, and off nights.
Hammy 79' is awesome.
Houston 77' is awesome.
Live Aid 85' was one of Queen's best performances.
Freddie was quoted saying by several of his friends in 1990 that he felt his voice was stronger than ever but "too bad its in a old mans body".
So who knows what a tour in the 1990's would have sounded like if only.....
However, on the magic tour, everyone says "Freddie has voice problems...blah...blah..."
Freddie's worst voice on the tour WAS WEMBLEY.
And was that really that horrible?
Freddie kicked ass all over the place in Budapest.
The weakest thing about the magic tour is Brian thin, tinny, weak ass guitar tone, and Roger's synth sounding drum kit.
