What the hell is wrong with those guys!
I've listened to many Bon Jovi albums and I've always loved the energy and power of the songs (you give love a bad name, runaway, living on a prayer and many more). I was really looking forward to listening to this live album. What a dissapointment!!! I haven't seen this dvd (if it even excists), but the cd sounds as if the whole band and especially Jon is sitting on a huge sofa and singing from there!
Queen songs sound powerful on studio albums, but when you hear the live versions you get really blown away. Just listen to Tie your mother down and don't stop mke now for example. I was expecting something similar with the powerful Bon Jovi songs. What I heard was something opposite - boring is the only right word to describe those live versions.

have you heard Bon Jovi from Live 8? trust me it sounds no where near as good as the studio versions, he doesnt sing aswell as he used to! if you can listen to it and you will see what i mean, he performed Living On A Prayer and Its My Life, iv heard better!
Bon Jovi at Giants Stadium in 2001 was the best concert I've ever been to. The whole energy of the crowd cheering for having the boys back at home after more than 5 years without playing Jersey was awesome.
If there's something I can't stand about Bon Jovi is when they make acoustic versions of their hardest rocking songs. I remember listening to a slow version of 'Runaway' and it sucked donkey balls. I think they only one of their songs that sounds good on an acoustic version is 'Dead Or Alive'.
I'm listening to this album again and it still sounds so monotonic! Runaway is playin right now. It's ok, but the studio version is better in my opinion. This version is from Tokyo 1985.

Didn't they release an album a couple years ago with all their greatest hits rearranged and recorded acoustically?

Yes they did. Awful stuff.
It's called "This Left Feels Right"... more like "This Left Feels Wrong".
