I was wondering if Queen would have released a song as a single that brian or roger sung. lets say roger sung 'we are the champions', would they have released it. i dont think they would have.
what do u guys think.
This is the point where a certain moderator of QOL would start quizzing the posters...
Apparently they have released another single (Long Away, in USA or some other place) in addition to NOBY which doesn't feature Freddie on vocals... And we all know what a success that was. :P

I hope you all got the sarcasm in that comment?
If Bri & Rog had believed in their own commercial potential, surely they would have continued to sing one song each on the albums after The Game?
They released Long Away, too...I think that would've done better in England maybe than it did in the US, though. I bet if that had been successful they would've released something not sung by Freddie, but that's mostly what an audience, especially casual fans buying the single, wanted to hear.
Freddie was obviously the leadsinger of Queen, so was his job to do the lead vocals - even on singles. Album songs are an own chapter. Would they promote an single (with the exclusion of Long Away, hehe) and mentioned Freddie as an background singer and maybe piano player only ???Not the best idea for commercial success I think.
But I hope the next Queen single will feature Paul on lead vocals, hopefully with a new song. FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS live would be a weird single, because the song was already released as an double A-side with Freddie on vocals.
But please, please no Brian or Roger on lead vocals - they should keep this, for their next solo album(s).
Excuse me for my bad English - but I´m drunk.

What about "I'm In Love With My Car?" (I mean the song, not the fact that I LOVE my car ;-)
Well, if you're going to count songs that were b-sides of singles, then you could also count "The Loser In The End" (the b-side to Seven Seas Of Rhye in Japan)....
and now that I think about it... "A Human Body" as well!

That's perfectly understandable... No-one bought it in the first place, and I'm sure even Brian himself wants to forget that kind of embarrasment. :P
It's obvious they learned from that mistake. ;)

I don't think b-sides count.
Right you are (both of you.) IILWMYC was indeed a B side, and I knew that. I reread his post. I must have skipped over the part that said "single." Thanks! ;-)

Disagreed-You were as drunk as an idiot with a pea-sized brain because there is no more queen without Freddie Mercury.

In certain cases they might've...but honestly I don't think Brian has a good voice, but I love his guitar playing. I think Roger has a kick ass rock voice and he could pull off the heavy stuff, but Freddie can sing anything and that's why the released his stuff... and does anyone know if John sings at all?
