Just watched a special about live aid on bbc 2 there was a few clips of Queen mostly Freddie I was just thinking about Queen's setlist i think it would have been good if They had sang Under Pressure with david bowie wot do you think
Indeed indeed. I thought it wouldve been good yet silly if they did we will rock you in Bb then at the end of the guitar solo, go into the heavy part to Bohemian and do that. At the end of the piano run up, Freddie couldve filtered into we are the champions.
Made my heai stand on end watching the clips of Queen up on stage, especially when you see all the hands in the air for RGG - literally all clapping in unison.
I think the set was well chosen as they sung songs that the audience knew and could also sing along to.
As stated by many artists, it was probably Queens greates hour in reagrds to how many new fans they grabbed that day.
It was also interesting Roger statingthat the majority of the bands took part in Live Aid to improve their sales. Although this was obvious to many of the audience, not many bands had the balls to come out and say it.
I though Anabel Giles was the biggest prat. All she moaned about was the fact Midge did not get so much praise as Bob - although have never liked her anyway.

They could have replaced hammer to fall with under pressure with david bowie
That was a good show last night. I didn't realise how disorganized and how many errors occured in the original...
Unfortunately the success of Live Aid is remembered imo for a large extent on the brilliant performances of U2 and Queen. Theres gonna be too much expectation from all the bands in this Live 8 and for it to make a significant political difference. Unfortunately there will never be a seminal moment quite like it again...
It would have been good if they finished with Under Pressure and then David Bowie took over, cause in London I think that was the running order, but ofcourse Simple Minds were on in the States...
I wouldn't really change the Queen performance, it was immense as it was.

I think it would have spolied the set list as they would have had to introduce DB, then get him off the stage for CLTCL.
Rather than reducing Queens set, they could have done UP in DBs set.
Set List -
Bohemian Rhapsody [02:22]
Radio Ga Ga [04:00]
Audience Participation [00:40]
Hammer To Fall [04:46]
Crazy Little Thing Called Love [03:37]
We Will Rock You [01:16]
We Are The Champions [03:41]

Well they could have made their performance longer. I mean LIVE AID was jammed with participations (Tina and Mick). And I'm sure Geldof wouldn't have given a fuck if their performance was like 5 minutes longer so they could perform one of the participations of the century live. Dunno really why they didn't do it.
