I'm new here,also Queen fan.I'm from Slovenia.And I'm wondering some facts about Freddie.
-Most of all I want to know are there any fotos showing how he looked before he died?
-He propably hadn't had any son or daughter? His relatives were just his mother and fother and Mary Austin?
-Has anybody already read Jim Hutton's book called 'Me and Mercury'?
If there are any mistakes in the text, I apologize becouse my english isn't so good.

Actually there's lots of fotos of what he looked like before he died. Every fotograph that was taken when he was alive. :)
I know he lost a lot of weight.I saw These are the days of our lives(video).He simply wasn't like Freddie; he looked like an anorexic person,so I started to ask myself how he looked several months later when he died. Even worse I guess...

Why are so many people obsessed with how Freddie looked right before he died? I'm not referring to anyone in particular...just so many people keep asking. Is this normal?

Fairy, NO it is NOT normal, it is a sign of sickness in the mind.
The 2 obsessions on QZ that bug me most, are with Freddie's being Gay/Bi (does it matter), and his last days on this earth, when he was most ill from AIDS.
I think you and I and the "normal" unobsessed people can lump these and "understand" these wackos by seeing that they are either:
1) Homophobics
2) Necrophiliacs
In which case, and NO I am NOT being sarcastic, they should get some serious psychiatric counseling and therapy (for the necrophiliac part), as well as professionals who deal with intolerance and prejudice (for the homophobic part).
Either way...while I am not trying to be judgmental, to me twisted sickness of this kind..is NO excuse..it's a THRILL for some twisted sickos.

what I hate the most about this obsession with Freddie's sickness is how some people can even joke about it. We must never forget that Freddie is a human being. Just like we wouldn't make jokes on the suffering and death of our friends, or of the friend of anyone on this forum, I think we owe the same respect to someone we never met in person, who however is a human being just like us....And whom btw we all claim to love and admire!!!Is all this disrespectful talk a sign of love and admiration? Humor is fine as long as it doesn't become offensive.

No offence at all, but as frustratingly annoying as it is that almost 90% of every first time poster at some time or another asks whether there were there any photos of Freddie or what his gay habits were etc, I think it's a touch unfair to label them all homophobics and necrophiliacs?! I think more ''childish over-zealous curiosty'' is a reason rather than them being ''sick'' in the head.
But - don't you just WISH they'd read the other posts first and find out that not many people appreciate these kinda questions...
I agree...Who wants to look at someone who is dying or see them before they died..it is kinda morbid..I have read mercury and me 3 times...its a good read...I like to remember freddie for how he was on stage Etc..I know you cant forget about his terrible illness But i never feel the need to want to look at photos of when he was ill..But there you go it takes all sorts doesnt it...Lol..
