I totally agree. I was even listening to several Different radio stations (here in the USA) this morning to see what they thought...and they all said that only the London lineup is excellent.
Damn lucky Brits!
I LOVE the band Muse .. not as much as Queen but still .. i heard Muse one day when surfing an mp3 mIRC channel a few months ago , downloaded a few of their songs and i was blown away. Its good to see they are playing a show like this.

Perhaps a better question: Is anyone planning to buy a DVD from this show? with 50 cent and all that crap. Would like to see The Cure and U2 though.
Bob Geldof & Midge Ure have asked the people to skive off work (sackable offence) and kids to play truant from school and go march in Edinburgh on June 6th. Irresponsible statement to make in my opinion.

What? theres more than 2 locations?! bloody hell! one event, 4 countries?! WOW!
I wanna go.. I think its a bit unfair though to make it a text lottery.. I mean, its pure luck if you get tickets. I'd rather pay, at least I'm more likely to get tickets.. :(
I spread the word a bit around non-Queen forums to begin with, but the response was fairly quiet. Maybe it needs a bit more time. I didn't want all the signatures to be from Queen fans because obviously it won't be just Queen fans at Live 8. Also I realise this will make bugger all difference. But I was bored. So, if you want Queen at Live 8 sign this petition blah blah blah yawn. link

So far it 5 simultaneous concerts in 5 countries,
London, UK
Berlin, W. Germany
Paris, France
Rome, Italy
Philadelphia, USA
with the discussions to add 3 more concerts in the remaining G8 Summit countries...Japan, Canada, Russia.
My earlier post on here lists all the artists and cities/countries.
MORE Music artists/bands are also to be added & announced.

I think they should add more metal bands like Audioslave Green day and System of a down, bands that actually give proceeds of there albums to world causes... Line up is excellent though and it's great that these people are giving there services for a good cause and for free. Bob's the man...You'd know he was Irish!!:)
tix are gonna be like what, 300 USD or something..I dont think this will be a great event, most bands listed are not so great live, and will be even worse with small setlist and pressure, Im gonna bet more then a few are gonna ruin thier carrers with this and even less make it bigger.

And..with respect..and no offense meant...the music industry and scene Internationally has changed so dramatically in 20 years...
In 1985 you didn't have Rap... and along with booking immense superstars (and Geldof was able to book ALOT more for Live Aid than for Live 8) like Paul McCartney, Queen, The Who, Sting, Phil Collins, Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Sting, Tina Turner, Dire Straits, Patti LaBelle, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Black Sabbath, Madonna,...there were were tons of NEW or Up & Coming artists from the mid 80's who were talented & huge...yes U2...and Simple Minds, Darryl Hall & John Oates, Bryan Adams, INXS, Autograph, Allison Moyet, Paul Young, The Thompson Twins, Howard Jones, etc.
Ths time around, you have less Superstars booked, I don't see Clapton, The Who, Zepplin (or at least Robert Plant & Jimmy Page), Ozzy or Sabbath, Bowie, Jagger, Tina Turner, etc.
and for New or current talent? 50 Cent, Razorlight, Stereophonics, Scissor Sisters, Snoop Dogg, Snow Patrol, Keane, Dido, The Killers, Lauryn Hill...YUCK even for free...I'm not fighting traffic to see these people play. I'm not even that thrilled about watching it on TV.

It does not matter what changes, when you get a bunch of bands toghther to play a few min it always ends up being far below then what you expect.
Even the Freddie tribute concert, sure it was good, but there was always something you wanted to change, when I seen the line-up( at the time I was more of a metal head) I was thinking it was gonna be awesome with GNR-Metallica-Extreme-def lepp
Live aid is good, but face it, most performance's were average or below, the selling point it that they are famous.
